Since you have two cartoons already up there, I'll feel free to choose a different cartoon. I like The Year Without a Santa Claus (1974) with the Miser brothers, Heat Miser and Snow Miser and their cute little songs.

The Santa Clause with Tim Allen was good for the first twenty minutes, like he wrote the movie. After he turns into Santa Clause it seems like Disney takes over and makes it stupid.

But my favorite is

FAR RA RA RA RAAAA, RA RA RA RA!
(Christmas at the Chineese Resteraunt how great! :))

A Christmas Story!

I don't know if I would consider it my favorite but every year growing up when my parents went to my dad's Patent/Holiday Banquet (how the engineers celebrate the holidays), A Very Brady Christmas would always be on and my babysitter would always watch it with my brother and I. I just saw it again on tv yesterday...memories.

My favorite holiday movie is definately National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It's hilarious!

"If that cat had nine lives it sure used 'em all."

Next would have to be A Christmas Story. The best scene is when Ralphie's friend, Flick, sticks his tongue to a pole.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

It' not really a which is better it's more of a which order do you watch them in kinda thing for me... The very first has got to be "A Charlie Brown Christmas" -that's the actual title- Then "The Grinch" the animated one narrated by Boris Karloff. After those you get the whole "Frosty" "Rudolph" etc. Those are the get you in the holiday mood cartoons. After that you've got "A Christmas Story" that's a timeless classic, imho, as is "A Nightmare Before Christmas." Personally, I've never been able to get into "Its a Wonderful Life" I've just put it into the same category as country music, whiny, complaining... sorry, I'l stop so as not to offend anyone, i know plenty of people who absolutely love that movie (my grampa). On Christmas Eve there are 2 movies I have to watch, "Miracle on 34th Street" (only the b&w!!!) followed by "Prancer." Now the thing about Prancer is that it has to fall around midnight. When I was still in school I would have to watch "The Wizard of Oz" during break. But hey, as all those who know me will agree, I'm not exactly... well I'm "interesting" and "unique" so I really don't have a favorite movie just my normal viewing order.

Oh come on folks! I was really hoping that at least ONE other person would have mentioned my perennial favorite (where are you Carolyn?!)!.

Can it possibly be that no one else appreciates the total schlock value of the classicly bad "Santa Claus Conquers The Martians" ??? Where else can you see an alzheimers-ridden Santa, the complete ignorance of all laws of physics, a guy named "Droppo" with an antenna in his head, a reindeer named "Nixon," possibly the world's worst Milton DeLugg theme song, Martians defeated with a fuselade of ping-pong balls, and the acting debut of Pia Zadora all at once?

It is enough to make "Santa Got Run Over By A Reindeer" seem downright sappy! ;)

Yes, I know you brain has been locked onto all of that mission stuff you've been playing with but you are still here where there are Krispy Kremes (that's the reason I know you aren't on mars, you won't go until there's a KK there. ;)

Time to get the ol' prescription re-filled, Dave :D. Actually, my favorite Christmas movie has to be It's a wonderful life (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0038650), followed very closely by Christmas vacation (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0097958). The first time my Wife and I had relatives over for Thanksgiving, our turkey ended up looking very much like the Griswold's (totally desiccated and very, very chewy) :yikes:.
