OK... So I know that one thing i wanted to see was a place where each team could have a 'profile' of their robot/team which one team member could update whenever they wanted. Also, there needed to be a way so that other users could discuess a team/robot with others without having them all in the same forum being confused together.
SO... I created a system that will allow this to happen. If you visit: http://www.feds201.com/team.php?mode=list You will see a listing of teams along with a few links. (Teams will be added to the list as members from other teams join the site) The two links that are there now allow you to view a Team Profile and a Team Forum. The team profile takes you to a section in which one user from a team will be able to updata data a free will. The Description section can be used to describe their robot/other team items. The links section can be used to link to important posts in their team forum section or to external sites. The left side has a section called 'Fantasy Standing'. This will be replaced with a easy to read 'what can this bot do' section. (Ex: Last year it would have been the number of goals the bot can handle, the number of balls, etc.) I'm unsure now if that section will be updated in the same way that the description is updated, or if all members will be allowed to vote and it will display an avgerage.
Next... In the team forums. This is just like any other forum on www.feds201.com but, you can only view it by going to the team list page. Here teams could post extra data about their team / robot. Posters can also attach pictures of their robot. I have also allowed guests (non-registered) users to post in these forums. However, they can not edit their posts, they can't post attachment, and they don't have a profile. SO... register to become a full user.
A photo gallery will be up soon which will allow users to upload a picture of their robot. A thumbnail of the picture will then be included in the team profile.
I know that similar systems are allready in place, but i think that the accessibility with this system is far better than any other one that is in place. I also understand that it can be annoying to have different sites with different accounts for each one, but this so each site can cater to what it is there for. So... take the time today to go to: http://www.feds201.com/profile.php?mode=register to register. Then look in the team list to see if your team is there. If it isn't, make a post in the the Team Profile forum telling me to make one.
This system is still under development, but I want people to know about it so that they can use it this year.
Hope this will help all teams!
