Hey guys, I was just wondering out of all of you who has applied to Olin college? I did and i'm really (really really really) nervous...but yeah. I think that half of the people who apply (at least!) are FIRST-ites....

and if anyone else wants to learn about this really awesome, small, free tuition college for next year: www.olin.edu

Good luck! Nuff said.
:D

Oh and be prepared to drive to the middle of nowhere to get there!!! lol

It's like 25 miles from the nearest highway I got off to get there.
I was actually going to Babson College (http://www.babson.edu) , which is literally a stone's throw from Olin - like a 10 foot walk from Olin and you're on Babson's property.

The good thing is that the "T" or Boston's train system, is like 2 miles down the road and you can take it into Boston (something we should have done when we went, instead of driving into Boston, getting lost, and almost missing getting my car out of the parking garage at 2:30 in the morning when we finally made it there.)

I looked at it and said 'no way.' There's no chance I could get into a school like that. My 3.44 GPA isn't all that good. Yay for slacking off!

Hey all -- FIRST alumni Oliner here. I know it's a little late (post-admissions season) but for those of you coming up.. take a look at Olin. It's a very intense place, but it's a lot of fun if you're willing to work. And yes, tuition will be free indefinitely. :)

Actually, I just hit the link to http://www.olin.edu/, and guess who's on the front page? Thats right, Dean Kamen

From http://www.olin.edu, front page:
Inventor Kamen to Speak in Olin's 'Big Conversations' Series
Renowned entrepreneur is first speaker in new series

Doubt it'll be there for long, but hit the link while it lasts.

About the actual school, I've begun looking into this 'college' thing, but never heard of Olin before. Haven't really been able to find any rankings on it either....
apparently their history page (http://www.olin.edu/about_olin/olin_history.asp) says the class of 2002 was its inaugural year... perhaps thats why theres no info about it

So it looks like he's giving a speech there the day before the Championship event technically starts, April 9th. Practice rounds start the 10th.
