Does anyone know the exact height from the carpet to the bottom of the first bar that are attached to the ramp?

i don't think FIRST has clarifyed the exact height, we just know a bin can not fit under them in any configuration

14 3/4 inches, they did specifiy this. but if you plan to go under, design it lower so you don't get stuck on it

I remember from 2001 that sometimes they don't say the distance between important things, they only say what parts you need to build it, and than you can go measure it.

The goal we built in 2001 was "similar" to the real one, so I had to call FIRST and asked someone to measure some important things for me in order to design a claw to get the goal.

Download the "field blueprint" from First. The Bars' heights are shown at 16 and 20 inches, I believe. I just had a glimpse tonight.

I haven't seen the drawings, but from different threads on the same topic, I believe 16 and 20 do not represent numbers that answer the original question.

I keep hearing 14.75" as the answer to the clearance, but obviously this needs to be clarified on the FRC site.

The only thing you can be 100% sure of at this point is since the container cannot pass under, it's lower that the height of the container (which is 15.75").

Distance to the top of the bottom bar is 16".

Outside diameter of schedule 40 pipe is 1-11/16".

If copy and paste works, here's the link:

If you do the math, that would be 16" minus 1-11/16" = 14-5/16".

The carpet has thickness too. How does that affect your measurements?
