Gahhh! Flash! I am vehemently anti-Flash, unless the site in purpose is a site that cannot serve its purpose without Flash (read: Flash games sites). Load times are a part of the problem, excess glitz is another.

just my 0.02

as a personal note, i hate flash. it has become a knee jerk reaction as most flash sites have lots of geewhiz animations. just because it looks cool doesn't neccessarily mean i want to sit and watch something load.

how would you like it if i made a page that everytime you wanted to look at it made you sit 5 seconds?

anyway, it has a nice look. the transitions felt a bit choppy, but i've gotten used to strange issues that only occur to me... so might just be me.

hm.. well lets put it this way, insted of using the word 'hate', i would say flash is an incredible tool for websites. What i would just keep in mind is to keep it simple. Team websites need to be as simple as they can get. Long load times, and micro nav bars obstructive. HTML/CSS/js make a great combo..

I've never been a huge fan of 'pure Flash' pages, but if a navi bar is in flash or some other little things thrown in with good ole' HTML, then it's all cool.

HFWang, get DSL....

Dialup or T3 .. you still have to sit & watch alot of flash animations move the navigation into place, and I agree .. it gets tiresome having to sit & wait ...

Pure Flash pages CAN be really awesome to behold. One example of effective flash is: http://www.2advanced.com/

I got a bit of "deja vu" when I saw this site by Unionville. Its executed in pretty much the same manner and design as the first: http://www.uhsrobotics.com/

To make it simpler for the user, we're making a hi-res flash site, and a low-res non-flash site. Also, we're going to get the index page to detect your computer settings and auto-direct to the proper site. We're trying to make it easier for people without Flash capabilities, even though the only flash in our site is the side menu.

i don't like all flash sites...the loading...the lag (sometimes)...the coding glitches (yes it happens)...

it's just too much...

you should just use HTML with flash integration...

like on www.firstubergeeks.com (yes i know it's a shameless plug but i'm trying to make a point :p) maybe some people liek to use it more or less but that's about as far as flash and i go...

I'm sorry if not all of us are rich. If it were my perogative, everyone of us would sit on a big fat optical pipe and we could spend all of our time eating and doing our heart's desire.

But until that happens, I think you are still stuck with the fact that not everyone can download megabytes at blazing speeds or even have the CPU to play your pretty animations perfectly.

Sorry if I seem mad, but comments like that are just kind of silly. As if I can just shell out the cash for DSL because I feel like it.

I have to disagree with some of the things that were said. I think the site looks awesome. The flash is really cool, and I love all the musical selections. Some tips though, that may make it better:

Have the animations run faster. The intial open where it makes the borders, with the lines and pluses should go a little faster. Also, maybe make the background appear a little sooner in the animation. It is kinds odd with all the other parts getting added with that background. Other than that, I like it!
