Ok I know how to set up a 2d particle system, but how do you set up a 3d one? I think someone said you can use some plugin called crowd? If so where can I get it?

On an unrelated note, does anyone know how to make a part of your animation split screen? in other words, you have say two 5 sec animations that you want to show both at the same time on a diagonally split screen in the final animation. Do most video editors have this capability? I have pinnacle, would that work or does someone know of something better to get the job done?

you can do a 3d particle system with a particle array...read the tutorials.

you'll have to use a video editing program to do the split screen thing...

ok, when it comes to 3d particles there are certain things you can do depending on what you want the particle to look like.. So for instance say you want to use particles to simulate water falling, use a super spray system then, go to your modify tab and go to the load/save presets, go down to load and use the hose preset and then go to the particle type roll out and click on it, then go to the META particle option...(be carefull because useing this particular particle type, and all particles for that matter eat up tons of memory, so make sure you have a good amount of memory and a good processor in your comp) test render it, if you don't like the size of the particles then go to the particle generation tab click on it and go down to size and bump it up.. this is a very cool thing to use.... the outcome is very impressive if you do it right... if you would like a demo video, download one here:Water.zip (http://www.geocities.com/heero_yuy_ii/water.zip) I know it doesn't look the most professional, but oh well.(wether you needed this, i still put it up)
