We have designed and implemented a fully-functioning, 32000-qubit Feynmann processor that analyzes all of the possible outcomes of the match simultaneously and determines what action to take based on the current field state. Still a few bugs to work out, but it's coming along...

As with the rest of our robot....we haven't started yet.
we just got into it today and I think the programers got it undercontrol.
we're still trying figure out how we ar egoing to impliment the optical sensors for line tracking.. That will be tomorrow's task, if they didn't figure it out tonight.

as of now......we are no where with it....The same goes with our bot. All we have done is the frame and most of the transmissions. We keep on throwing around ideas for the arm....but I think we are on the right track now. Our 2 programers are going to have nervous breakdowns by the end of this season.

Our programmers got the line tracking done today, in autonomous mode. Now all we need to do is bolt the sensor array to the 2002 bot for testing..

what happens if your zzwhatever processor craps out during competition? Sounds really tite, but do you have a backup plan?

we had a program last year where we could record our input and play it back. We might use that. However, with wear on the robot, other robots bumping, etc., we are seriously thinking about a totally new program and some crazy sensors to tell our position in relation to the field.
Of course its hard to debug/improve when you don't have the target platform completed.

FYI all, ameya was kidding. Anybody know anything about quantum computers? Keep on dreaming ameya.
Our team has finished line following code, non-autonomous arm control (harder than the autonomous), translational drive system control, goal seeker code...and a few pointless secrets. Enjoy catching up to the uber-coders :)

We have been working really hard to understand PBasic and we are starting to come together as a programming team. We are all new to programming and I think that the samples for line following and seeking out boxes will be very benefitial to our team. We will work on that this Saturday.

wish I knew what you were talking about. LoL. We are still testing ours to see what the best use for them would be, But we are prolly going to try to use them for everything? Who knows.. still working on it..

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof was to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools. I know that's not the exact quote, but it works. heh...

As for our team, being rookies, our program made by one of the former robotics members a few years ago, is completed and tested through a small robot to follow the line. Guess what? It worked!!! It's fully operational. I saw it today with my own eyes. Now all we have to do is make the robot, and program all of the individual things inside of it along with any other necessary things to take into consideration.
Our Team doesn't have a robot yet so I haven't really started writeing our program. I have made small programs that I will later add into the final product. I have finished line tracking, search and distroy and am working on Dead Reconing, but it hard to do without a Robot.

All sounds good people. How is the line following coming along? Is anyone able to follow the line at full speed?
We don't have sensor line tracking yet, but we have the basic bot done, with optional sound system and underglow assemblies for our upcoming kikin show.

Well....we've basically finished the program for our robot. Now if our construction team can finish a box with 4 wheels for us to test the code.

WE are doing well although we are in programming hell..
Not only do we have the stamp to deal with, but we went with imfrared, ultrasonic and home brewed LED bars for line following..
This led to a microcontroller talking to the STAMP...so we then got an ICE and are now in electronics hell...
But we'll be able to know where we are and seek and destroy boxes..line follow or wall follow.. we even might be able to count squares on the ramp to know where the top is..
We also designed it so that we could have a predetermined set of autonomous actions depending on the other team strategy and our partner..

Not sure if this was a rhetorical question... but yes I know something of quantum computers... Quite a bit really. It's been a research project I've been a part of at the University of Michigan. It's been a challenge, as our group if looking at computing methods, while un-related, the physics department has come up with some super-cooled laser trapping experiments that we've found have great value..... and the crowd is a sleep... I get that a lot...
But you've given me a great idea.... I should think about applying my research ideas to the robot... hmm... this could be interesting. :-) Just to let you know... Quantum Computing is not just about building quantum processors, it's a new mindset about computing in general, of which, a lot of ideas can be applied to "modern" computers. IMHO Quantum computers may be the way of the future, but they are a ways off, clock-less technology is where we need to go.....
And luck, I'm no where near topic of this thread.... sorry

Well, my wisdom teeth are coming out tomorrow, and i have regents week off (regents == NY test stuff), so I have decided on a little project. I will be writing a c++ app that writes dead reckoning code. Click on the screen a few times to give it way points, and it will (hopefully) write the code for it. If i get really into it, it may support more than just skid (4 wheel) steering. It may support crab or what ever other crazy contraptions you think of. now if i can just remember my good old trig identities...
Some of our SparkE's are working on a "learn mode" in which a human operator drives the robot for 15 seconds, and the program records motor run times. Coupled with a few sensor "check points" this will allow us to create all kinds of fun autonomous programs.
Haha, my favorite part is that the autonomous program would actually be a human driver, not necessarily from the high school. Who knows, you might get to see me "driving" the bot for 15 seconds one match. :D

bleh thats nothing, we have a fully functioning klignon bird of prey thats going to be cloaked right over the field, no need for autonmous mode, all the other robots will be blown to bits!!!!!!!
ohh yeah we got a little teleporter working on our robot so BEWARE!
muhahahahaha, but it doesnt work onliving things, we tried to teleport our one of the programmers across the room and it didnt turn out so well!

My team's co-captain gave me a pretty big challenge of making the robot fly. So far, this is what I've got:
fly = true
nofly = false
The fly = true statement is self explanatory, but as I explained to him, in the event the mech kids screw up, the nofly = false will keep it from falling out of the sky.
Being a mech kid himself, he didn't find that very amusing.

started programming it.. but got bored and got into the design of the bot more than the program..
have the suspicion this will be yet another thing whipped together half hour before shipping.. yet will still amaze everyone

Klingon Bird of Prey? Hahaha! And you, Ameya, with your puny Earth computers? Our team has built the Sun Crusher, a miniature and more powerful version of the Death Star. It doesn't need to cloak, it will fly around and ensnare whole stacks with the tractor beam. Oh yeah, I have Han Solo piloting it, by the way. :D
