this may or may not be true the only one that can confirm this is Dave LAvery himself but a reliable source from team 116 has informed me the true reason Dave Lavery participates in FIRST
THE REASON IS BEEF STICKS

I suggest everyone search the NASA web site for more proof of DL as the KK King.

If you look closely at some of the Mars Rover pictures, you will clearly see that the wheels are two year old glazed doughnuts.

Not only do KK's taste great, they are also functional.

Okay, I just spent the last five minutes laughing, but now I have to yell at you for getting me in trouble with Dave! Trust me, I don't need any help in that area. If you guys had seen the look Dave gave me tonight in regards to this thread you would be apologizing to me right now! But Dave can't be too mad, it's not like it's one of the modified photos I've done of him, or the Krispy Kreme Fairy Tale or anything... (all of which have been posted on this site in the past year ;) ) I mean, all I did was take the photo and insist... er... suggest it would be a good one for the website...

More pictures and more proof of the KK addictions:

This is me, then Carolyn, then of course Dave....this was after our trip to KK at Nats where Dave bought 10 dozen, I bought 2 dozen, and some un-named TechnoKat had just purchased 12 dozen....all of them were gone within 15 minutes of arriving at the pits.

Girlfriend, You just keep getting yourself in deeper and deeper.

A: Has he lost weight?

B: If yes to "A", Has he betrayed the KK club and stopped eating the perfect food product?

C: Considering your past history for posting pictures of our friend who likes to surreptitiously torture unsuspecting patrons of public transportation; I'll bet he's thinking about a banana cream pie (or equivalent) that will soon make contact with a certain photographer's face.

D: He, heh.......Could I have a picture of that?

Insurance. That's the key to this whole thing. I am not silly enough to think my insurance covers all things, however, I hope no one is silly enough to think I only have one policy.

So here I sit saying over and over, "I know I shouldn't do this, I know I shouldn't do this..." but I cannot keep the secret any longer. I think everyone admires and respects Dave, and why not, after all, isn't he someone to admire and respect? Well, along with being the Krispy Kreme King and apparently now the Beef Stick King, Dave is also the Man Of Steel (seriously, ask him how much steel is in his basement). He's faster than last year's robot, more powerful than a Krispy Kreme donut and able to eat giant beef sticks with one hand, look, it's an engineerbot, it's a clone, it's... it's SuperDave!

Oh goody, goody! May I help?

Nothing personal Heidi.....

It's just that, with my upbringing in a practical joking family, I find it very hard to resist. My father and I just completed a project where we set up a crime scene in a neighbors yard while they were out of town. Now we're bored. Also (and I am not sucking up here), thanks to all the pictures that were posted, I think Dave's kinda cute!

Binding the wounds. Those chickens can do a lot of damage, and you need something to hold the Spam in place afterwards.

:( All I did was compare you to only the most famous, greatest superhero of all time... a man who embodies all that is good in this world, hero to countless small children everywhere... and you come back with bodily harm. Nasty chickens that will peck and scratch me, that will draw blood and leave scars... and all because I dared to, in admiration and great respect, compare you to Superman. Did I lie in my post? Are you not faster than last year's robot? And more powerful than a Krispy Kreme donut? Does not that original photo show you eating a large beef stick with one hand?

Here is this great guy, just minding his own business, when from no where he is verbally assulted.

Never in my life have I seen such a fine man, such an outstanding scholar, such a true gentleman, so visciously attacked.

A man of Dave's stature would never speak ill of anyone. Never, has this fine man played a practicle joke on anyone. I have personally seen him assist old people across the street (even when they did not want to cross.)

Too far? Too far?

We did not forget when the Germans attacked Pearl Harbor. We did not forget when the Canadians attacked the Alamo. We red blooded americans will not forget this attack on our hero.

<-- Now goes and hides under bed from dave.... oh wait i dont fit under my bed :(

I can't let you take all of the blame, I'm the one who took the beef stick picture in the first place! If I hadn't placed that bit of temptation on the web, you wouldn't be in this mess!

Don't worry Mike, we can handle Dave and his 1,000,000 friends who are behind him 110% 1,000,001 people against 2? Well, the absurdity of those odds assure that the fates will take pity on us and we'll win. Not that it's a battle or anything...

Thanks for dinner, Chef-Dave. Chicken grilled over an open flame and then served in a wonderful lemon curry sauce. Why, your lemon curry sauce is almost as good as your Hollandaise sauce ;) You really should get your DVD player fixed, there has to be a way to remove the "Turner and Hooch" DVD without breaking the door. And how inventive you were to use a modified VW Rabbit as a table and jumper cables to hold the table cloth down and railroad spikes for trivets. All and all, your garage makes a fine 5 star restaurant!

Okay, lets recap: We see that Dave is only in FIRST for the beef. Then we disprove that with pics of Dave and Krispy Kremes. Missinformation starts using photoshop to put Dave in precarious positions, and Dave snaps... I think. Missinformation suffers an identity crisis, leaving me the only masked person left in FIRST (actually, most of you know what I look like anyway). Is there something I missed?

Lies, all lies! I have never used Photoshop ever in my life. Never! I'm a Paint Shop Pro kind of a person. As a matter of fact, I'm testing out the beta version of Paint Shop Pro 8 right now! And who better to test it on than Dave:

http://www.factorfantasy.com/Photos/chef.jpg

Okay, okay, so I could have just as easily done that in the old version... but there are a lot of other neat features that I will be trying out over the next few days...

Hmmm... I always need head-on shots (you know, where they are looking directly at the camera) of... well, of "people", most of my pictures are side angles. And I've had to give up the best photos because of angle problems... so yeah, get head shots, they are easier to deal with.

Have your agent talk to my agent, maybe we can cut a deal for these LA pictures...

"confused gorilla "!!!!

Why, I am insulted! I am never confused. Startled, not-yet-decided, still-making up-my-mind, still-need-morning-caffeine, perhaps. But not confused. I was thinking more along the lines of an "optimistic orangutan" or something similar.

Or perhaps a late-60's refugee "assuming the position" for "illegal display of a party hat in public." Or perhaps, "mild-mannered bureaucrat rejoicing over the wanton destruction of PaintShop Pro software vendor facilities and loss of all active copies of the program."

But, what ever...
