Double Solenoids - assembly.

We got our put together, but no matter what i tried they leak a trickle at 60 psi . . . which is not good but we can stand it.

But how do i wire it? Does it need two spikes? Or can i do it on one. I'm tempted to just use our single soloniod to run both cyliders . . ..

please help.

You don't need diodes to do it. Go to here

That's how we did it last year (and were planning to do it this year), even though I had never seen that before. It's good to know we weren't totally out in left field.

Last year, we used code to turn on the pump for one second every five seconds in order to keep our tanks charged up.

If your pneumatic system is leaking you need to check every connection, remember to use your teflon tape. Soapy water works great for checking for leak, at least for the ones you can't hear.

I think he means the leak occured in the solenoid that had to be assembled.

If I recall correctly, the valves were separate from the electronic bits, and two small screws and two rubber "mesh plates" were supplied in a little baggy.

There were no assembly instructions anywhere, but our team just tried putting the mesh between the valve and the electronics portion of the solenoid. With both rubber pieces in, it leaked air at 10 PSI. We took one of them out (the one that doesn't have grooves to mesh) and left the other one in. We have yet to test this new set up yet.

I'm also curious to know if there are any assembly instructions for those solenoids.

The little leakage was with only the grooved rubber peice in.

But then I found a screwdriver that was small enough not to slip out of the little screws and fixed it.


Heh, I don't know how to read electrical diagrams so I tried to do it without diodes (WHY ISN'T IT WORKING?! WHY!!!???)

but then we figured it out.

soons we get diodes our pneumatics will be complete.
