Hello everyone,

We want to tell our driver not to use any pnuematic devices below 25-30 PSI, so we want to use a pressure sensor that was used in last years robot.

Does anyone know if this is illegal or not? If it is, anyone have any alternatives ?

Thanks

It is illegal, you can however use the 2nd pressure regulator given this year

What good would a second regulator do? We only got one switch in the kit, so you can only use that one.

Yes you can do that. In the pneumatics manual they mention that you can reduce pressure with an additional regulator, implying it is legal.

The goal is not trying to reduce the pressure. The goal is trying to tell the driver when not to use the pneumatics because the tanks aren't pressurized enough. A regulator will reduce the pressure. A switch will tell you what the pressure is. For this problem, you'd need a switch.

The pressure switch supplied this year opens at 115 psi and closes at 95 psi. You should be able to wire it via one of switch inputs 1 thru 3, to use it for the normal programming of the compressor, and to have the OI LED for that switch come on while the pump is on.

If the pressure in your low pressure system is down to 35 psi (from 60 ?), it means your high pressure (before the regulator) reservoir must be down to 35 psi, too. The pressure switch in the H.P. system will close, and thus both the compressor, and the appropriate OI LED would turn on.
