View Full Version : Web Competitors 2003
Hey Peps. With my new design uploaded to www.theforceteam.com (http://www.theforceteam.com) I figured it's time to figure out who are the brave souls that are going to compete agains us. I would kinda like to see... no... I would really like to see who my competitors are, and what they are capable of. So. you got a website your planning to submit? please post it here. I'll check back soon.:D
Brandon, do you think that you could make some sort of 'master-list' stuck to the top?
Other than that, I guess www.feds201.com
Not really a site this year. More of a web forum, but will have lots of 'extras' for scouting. (Actually, and entire 'Scouting Hub')
[edit]201 is going to Great Lakes and the Midwest Regional

This thread has been stuck at the top of the Website Design forum. As Jack requested, it is meant for people to list their URL & regional(s) they are attending.
Please leave all other discussion & comments to another thread. This is just a quick way to see whose competing at what regional for the website award.
Please list your URL and the regional(s) you are competing at.

Team 540 (http://robotics.numbnut.com) will be attending the VCU Regionals
Well. Looks like The Manchester Regional don’t got no competition... wait, that's 3 negatives... anyway. You know what I mean. I was kind of hoping this win (assuming we will win, because I want to be optimistic :D ) wouldn’t be a dry one... doesn’t look really great on my resume... ah well... LOL, I wont complain if we win! :D The Best of luck to everyone tomorrow. (That’s when we vote)
And if you’re going to Manchester... VOTE FOR US!!!! :D
our site is alright:
http://team254.bcp.org
any suggestions?
Hey! I like your site... were you at the manchester regionals? Just one suggestion, i only got to look at it real quick, but the first thing that popped out at me was the nav bar on the left. you should center the text within the actual buttons. TTYL, nice site!

cool thanks. no, we weren't at manchester, but we were at sacramento. we'll also be at silicon valley.
Titan Robotics will be competing for the website award in Seattle and San Jose.
I have hand coded the database driven part of the website using ColdFusion, and the static stuff is left in HTML. Most features are really just for members of our team (a scouting tool, where members may generate report of a team we will be competing against, and a news post tool for admins). In the near future, I will be installing a forum, which once again, will be hand coded.
Feel free to let me know what you think:

The intro loaded very fast however I almost fainted when I saw where it said 1.3 megs. Also, the intro was cool but very pixelized or low resolution or whatever. Nice site overall.
For the Thunder Chickens, it seemed a bit odd to me having the navigation bar on the right. Sort of like driving a British car. I do like your site though.
I would love to give you a beautiful video, but the intro would then have to be like 10 megs (and I know no one wants that, do they?)

Hey guys, just got back from regionals carrying some hardware. Our animation and controls won awards and a bid to nat's, but I'm proudest of our website. Go check it out, we won regionals because of it. Does anyone know if there's a way to look at numbers? I'd like to see how many people actually took the time to vote. www.eastrobotics.com if you wanna check it out! Thanks to all who voted and good luck to all who will compete with us in nats!
