Team 61 is going to be there. We are going to love the warm weather. We just got another 8 inches of snow Friday. and we are going to get another 6+ inches tomorrow. If you love the snow New England is the place to be.

Yeah Our bot is pretty pimp this year, big improvement over last year ne wayz, we'll hopefully be doing some damage in our 3rd year

As for Hotel.. bah I don't know yet.. I felt like staying in my cousins appartment up there while he was home for spring break ( most UCF kids stay in apartments not dorms ) that would be sweet ne wayz

Are there going to be any unoffical contest this year.

We missed out last year because we didn't go to the nationals. I heard team 180 had a pull off. I would love to see something like that at this regional.

We would, but we're just so tight on money this year. We can't even go to the nationals team party this year cause we can't afford their hotel plans that you need to purchase to get in.

212 is gonna be there staying at the residence inn(woo hoo 6 to a room!) last time i was at UCF all of the hotels were reallly close to the campus (woo no 45minute drive from cocoa!) and really close to eachother

I was in FIRST 2 years, team 282 orange crusher, ago and now I go to UCF. I'm taking 4 days off of my wonderful spring break to volunteer because that's how much i love robotics. I can't wait to see the robots you guys got this year! If you guys have not been to UCF, it's NOWHERE as nice as it was at KFC but that's obvious because KFC is almost a theme park. More than likely you guys will be playing inside the arena and that might be a little disappointing. I went to a 311 concert there and seating is limited and acoustics are horrible. I dont even know where they'd have the pits if they did that. Anyways, just a word of warning that I must say that I WISH SOMEBODY HAD TOLD ME before i chose UCF as my school. There is no robotics ANYTHING at UCF. Not even a robotics club. They said they're bringing a robotics guy from Florida Atlantic but the Florida Atlantic robotics program apparently isn't very good from what my teacher told me. I want to start a robotics club next year so if any graduating seniors want to help start one and know people that can help to sponsor it my email is etbitmydog@aol.com.. GOOD LUCK!!!

you know there are A LOT of Holiday Inn's, Holiday Inn Expresses, etc... in Orlando (majority for those crazy tourists...I mean....those who love to spend lots of money in our state).

where UCF is, is another world compared to disney, its like 30 minutes away from disney. Disney is waay west in orlando terms and UCF is East. But its all good. BTW there are a buncha junkyards within 10 minutes of the campus, hrmm junkyard wars styleeee?

We will be "Back in Pink" so to say (apologies to the Stones) at UCF... Look for the pople who are all pink, with pink hair, and pink body paint... And the drive from our school to UCF is about as far as it it from our school to KSC... SLEEPY TIME ON THE BUS!!!... I like being able to sleep in my bed, casue that means I can use my somputer the night before... Everybody THINK PINK!!!

Yeah the Pink Team will be coming to UCF. My dad lives approximately fifteen minutes away from UCF. His work is on campus at UCF, so convenient!

Whereas the rest of my team members will be waking up one hour early to leave for competition.:D

Yeah, our catapult was scrapped for weight. It was only meant as a crowd wow-er, but couldn't get it working right in the time alotted.

It will probably be like the last few years where you can simply go out and use it, unless it's crowded, in which case you'll have to wait your turn.

These days are much too long! Its ridiculous how long the days between ship date and competition last! Or it seems to be long anyway. lol. Well I surly can't wait. Heheh We'll be staying at Holiday Inn with 180 SPAM. :D Any other teams going' to be at the Holiday Inn? I want to know how early I have to be at the hot tub before it gets crowded in there. I am not certain if we will be streaming from soap from UCF. I'm certain we will for Midwest. I'll ask the soap guys this saturday to find out. At the very least the matches should be up to the soap108.com website before the end of the day.

Oh and we will be staying at the Marriot UCF.

The goal as I know it, is to have a webcast (Media Player) for the UCF event this weekend off of our SOAP108 website. I am currently working with the UCF and NASA staff to finalize the items. Additionally we will have a limited network available if everything works out.

I hope to post more in the coming days.

I must disagree with you. The University of Central Florida is a WAY better venue than any Kentucky Fried Chicken I've ever been to. And I don't know what theme parks you've been going to either. KFC may have some good food, but it doesn't amount to a theme park.

And oh yes, I will be there, as well as my team. We are staying in our homes, seeing as how we live round the bend.

Bring your own Ethernet Cable cause they are charging $10 for the cable and there is only one drop in each room.

Well, sort of.

Joel nor Mark may have known at the time that NASA will be streaming the event on the Internet. ( http://science.ksc.nasa.gov/robotics/ )

Makes no sense to duplicate the work, so we'll (1) stream locally at the event and (2) upload the movies to the website ( www.soap108.com/2003/movies/fl ).

Now, for Midwest, NASA/KSC will help rebroadcast our stream....more details next week in the Moto-Midwest Thread.
