ok guys lets chat about our fav bands, and they dont necessarily have to be big ones, just name them and maybe why you like them..thanks
My favorites are britsh jazz troupe Shakatak because they have a great smooth sound that can easily move you and groove you.
Everyhting but the Girl who write deeply felt music that isn't oboxious or pretensious. Just truthful.
Living Colour write some in your face antehms that put a new face on african-american issues with a creative clever angle.
Genesis a long time band that gets knock alot by people for the Phil Collins years but I liked the Phil Collins year. Shoot me.
Garbage might come across as one dimensional and depressing but they get your attention and Shirley while stomp you if you continue to ignore her.
Isley Brothers though much of their music tends to sound alike they are very good musicians who can jam with the best of them one song and lay downa smooth ballad the next.
Earth, Wind and Fire are a classic band who are also great musicians and write timeless songs.
Gap Band write great party tunes.
Barenaked Ladies are just authentic fun. They put on a great live show!
The Rippingtons have to be the best jazz band no one has ever heard of. If you see them I garantee that you will be up out of your seat and dancing in the aisles.

People would ask, I woudln't want to list them all -- so I made a list and put it on my webpage.
I erased it 1-2 days before this thread was posted. What a ko-inkey-dink.

I remember the first BNL show I ever saw. We had seats inside the pavillion at the FLAC PAC but it was a beatiful night out so we sat outside on the grass.
Late in the show they sung If I Had A Million Dollars and next thing you know they're are hundreds of boxes of Mac and cheese flying everywhere!!!! That could have been me in that mess! So from now on when I go to a BNL show I always make sure to stay at the back end of the show to stay out of the fray (and yes I know, BNL doesn't want their fans tossing boxes around anymore but that doesn't mean they won't try).

I have nothing as elaborate as your website, but every once in a while I'll update a Winamp generated playlist, and post it publicly.
I'll do it later today, and either edit this post, or post anew.

If you have a static ip and don't mind giving it out, SpyAmp (http://spyamp.sourceforge.net/) continuously shows what's playing on your WinAmp, shows your playlist, and lets people download songs. There are many other types of "What's Playing" plugins as well, I just like the simplicity of SpyAmp.
Adam
bands, eh? I've got a few of them...
Jam Bands:
Dispatch - They're like DMB, just a bit more tough (i.e. Gut the Van)
Phish - Awesome happy style music
Widespread Panic - Friend sent me some of this stuff, loved it since
Dream Theater - Not quite harcore, not quite metal, not quite full symphonic rock orchestra.
Blue Man Group - Who CAN'T resist a percussionist band that makes their instruments made of the same stuff you build potatoe cannons out of!
and of course...
Dave Matthews Band - Try getting some of their live or old stuff. With a cult following, it's easy to get full concerts (DMB actually advocates taping bootlegs and distributing them online). Actually, right now I'm listening to the July 29, 2002 Saratoga Springs concert (you could download any concert if you know where to look, but it's more fun if it's one that you went to ;-))... man, this concert has an AMAZING version of Ants Marching... pm me if you want it.
Other Bands on the Playlist
Dropkick Murphys (Irish Punk... ehehehe)
The Ataris
Face to Face
Bouncing Souls
Strung Out
Sugarbomb
Catch-22
Unwritten Law
Treble Charger
Led Zeppelin
Jimi Hendrix
The Doors
The Who
ACDC
Steppenwolf
Nirvana
Ozzy
Smashmouth
The Ramones
Incubus
Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies
The Hives
Cake
Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Billy Joel
...and more
