Richmond, CA - KRISPY KREME
Population 101,000

San Jose, CA - NO KRISPY KREME
Population 917,000 (11th largest city in the country, 3rd largest in CA - larger than San Fran)

IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT!?!
How can San Jose claim to be a large, modern, advanced city and NOT HAVE A KRISPY KREME???? I'm starting a recall drive for the mayor - it's just not acceptable, he clearly does not have a vision for our city like the mayor of Richmond does.

I have to drive to Mountain View to get Krispy Kreme. Now I have to find a way for my accountant to claim about 5,000 miles of driving each year on my taxes as a business expense.

Thanks for rubbing it in Eric. ;)

Hey now, leave Appleton alone! We have a whole 70,000 people here! :p I honestly don't know of any 7-11's north of Milwaukee ... When I lived in Michigan, there was a 7-11 on every corner. It was great! ;) :D

I prefer Dunkin' Donuts. We have about 5 on the island. Dunkin' Donuts are quite big around Southern New England. So big, that Providence has host to the worst named arena in history: The Dunkin Donuts Arena (called "The Dunk" for short). Therefore, Dunkin' Donuts are superior in every manner. Say, that gives me an idea.

To the chit chat forum!

I thought 7-11s were a south of the Mason/Dixon phenomenon!

As far as Krispy Kremes are concerned, they're one of the yummiest glazed donuts in existence. None of the others come anywhere near in flavor or consistency. Don't even mention them in the same forum as Dunkin's!

Tim Hortons.. Now there's a Donut place.

By my calculations, there is 1 7-11 for every 10000 people in my city.

We have a Dunkin Donuts and a whole bunch of Dandy Mini Marts (nobody has ever heard of those...now have ya? :P) Anyone ever had a Cinnabun...it's a little chain (there's one in the Charlotte airport).. I know the guy that used to own it (he started it then sold it) His name is Robert. So we call the place 'Bob's Buns' :D

Yeah, everywhere except Rochester. There's a 7-11 on every side of Rochester, MI, but none in Rochester itself. It's really funny.

2-3 boxes? Amateurs! Challenge me with a dozen dozen, and we can talk.

As for "What's with FIRST and Krispy Kreme anyway?" all I can do is refer you to my post from last year:

"Krispy Kremes are the living embodiment of the lightest breezes of heaven. They are formed from the gathered wisps of the aroma of ambrosia wafting from the topmost heights of Olympus, woven together by the youngest, most agile woodland nymphs in the earliest hours of the pre-dawn when the air is most still and the dexterity of their fingers is the greatest. This allows them to create the delicate laces of pure sunlight that compose the fibers of this wondrous food, nay, textured nirvana, that is then coated with a bath of the distilled essence of pure morning dew. These mystical concoctions must be consumed quickly, lest they sublimate back to the heavens before they can be captured on the tongue.

Dunkin’ Donuts are, well, just donuts."

Just reading that again still brings a tear to my eye... (snif)

Dear Anarkissed,

I agree with you about Cedar Point. When I was living in Ohio I always wanted them to move "The Beast" from Kings Island to Cedar Point. Lake Erie, Cedar Point, the Beast...what an amusement park that would be!

Ken,

I love cedar point, and The Beast in Cedar Point would have made it the best roller coaster park in the world. Well wait, it already is, but it would have made it beastly better ;) Have you heard about the new coaster they are building?

mmmm 420 feet tall and 120 mph top speed... 120 feet taller than millenium force and 28 mph faster... with 90 degree ascent and descent.... I think i'm going to love this summer...

Ken Loyd

Anarkissed,

Looks like I might have to make a trip home this summer. Cedar Point and fresh WhiteCastles...could be close to heaven. Throw in a few KK glazed and I just might consider moving back....never happen. I like to look at snow not live in it.

Well i guess that Cleveland come behind everywhere else when it comes to KK's and 7-11's. I have to drive for 20 mins to get to a KK and i don't think we even have 7-11's anymore. BUt hey we have a Dairy King and a Burger Queen and i'm not even joking. I will back up the claims od KK's though they are the best.

Redondo Beach, where I live in Los Angeles County, has no Krispy Kreme with the nearest one being about 25 minutes away. Before that one opened a couple of years back, it was a good 30-45 minute drive to get to one. However, while we lack a Krispy Kreme, we do have a 7-11 and we even have 6 Starbucks........

Saying there is no big deal about "those donuts" is the same as saying there is no difference between FIRST robots and battlebots.

The Providence Bruins (the Boston Briuns' AHL team) and Providence College play there. But yes, I have heard of Bess Eaton. There are none on the island, but there are quite a few in the rest of the state.

I never had it that good in San Jose.

And yet sometimes I miss the WRRF, too much sunshine, lane spliting (its a motorcycle thing), and Skyline (see previous comment)

Hello,
My name is Poetri. I have a poem about Krispy Kreme donuts that I do every night on stage for Def Poetry Jam. This is so funny that I just happened to type in Krispy Kreme on google and see all these other poems and addictions about this donut...wow...I am not alone. You can hear a taste (haha) of my poem on http://Poetri.com in the audio section. I also read about the guy on here that went to the show. Thanks man, for coming! I still love doughnuts.
The krispy kreme process is the coolest!

Do you realize that every time you eat meat, you are eating the muscles off a fried carcass that has been dead for how many weeks? You might as well slice a nice bloody hunk off your dog and cook it up.

I still love meat(although sometimes i find it disturbing).

anyways sry for that bit of gruesomeness.
I envy those who have a krispy kreme nearby. We have krispy kreme in ATL but not one near enough to me to be convenient. I wish we had 711.
HINT: BTW krispy kreme sales are really easy fundraisers.

Syracuse only *just* got our first Krispy Kreme - it opened like two weeks ago. Prior to that it's just been cold ones brought in from Rochester for school fundraisers - and they can be really really bad that way......haven't had the opportunity to try them hot yet :)

where i live there are at least 3 7-11's in a 1 mile radius. But Have You ever been to NYC one on every corner. Its Sad my cousins in AZ have never heard of 7-11 they have Circle K. Krispy Kreme is good but i would have to drive 1 hour each way to get to the closest one.
