Who else thinks 3ds 5 stinks? Anyone? If you don't, use it some more.

allright...we've had this discussion...MANY TIMES!!!!!! SO if you think it stinks, thanks for your opinion but come on...everything in life is a matter of opinion, including this software, so it really doesn't matter, okay.

If you know how to use it, it works great. If you know how to use Maya, IT works great. If you were raised on a PC, you know its ins and outs and proboly dis mac all the time. If you were raised on a mac, you proboly dis PCs all the time. It's a matter of what you're used to.

Can 3ds be frustrating at times, yes. Is it the absolute worst piece of junk out there, Far from it! Personall, I love 3ds, but that's because I know it. And imma agree with TEAM_74. We've had these threads for years now. Deal with it and leave this thread open for people with problems. Stop wasting my time debating this with you. I read the post and saw "3ds max issues" and immediatly opened it in search of the possibility of helping somebody and making their life a little easier. You've simply wasted my time.

So get back to work, and either submit an animation or don't. If you dont want to, you dont have to, its not required. Personally, I'm going to get back to work. Adios

....render to targas....lol...

Just don't use lightwave and you'll be 100% a-ok.

Thats true HOWEVER I still tend to have problems on the export from lightwave to 3ds. I still prefer to do everything native or at the most use an autodesk enginneering product to export to 3ds (in which case I dont set up any constraints, I simply send over the parts and assemple them in 3ds)
