I like your tracks. they look like the ones we been having for the last 8 years. I have a question. Have you thought about the turning on the two center wheels. and are you aware of the tracks you are using will rip in half if you over load them. It looks like you should of gotten the stronger belts.
How many motors are you running with thoses tracks?
We use 2 drill and two Chip. we run it at 450 rpm with a 24 to 36 gear down for more power. We just rip another of the stronger belt this year so beware. 1400lbs of torque will rip ours and 750lbs will rip your belts.
Still nice job on the robot I like seeing more tanks out there.

Aluminum 1/8 " Diamond Plate it is somewhat hardened over standard 6061, very rigid and actually pretty light for its strength.
We bought it from Metal Mart here in MI it is standard for a metal shop.

Mike,
I would be lying if I didn't say your robot was our inspiration for this years drivetrain. I am not sure about the part number for the stronger belts, these already have 2 steel bands in them for strength.
As for the drivetrain it is a mod of the Team 45 design beefed up to 20 pitch 20 deg pressure angle gears. 2 speed at approx. 8 ft/sec in high and 2 in low. Uses both the CIM and BOSCH. So far in testing it has proven very reliable and very strong especially on the carpet. We are noticing some heavy wear on the belt side from the wire mesh but I see that in many pictures others have it too (Especially the Technocats latest picture) We are ordering more belts for the reigonals (Buckeye and Great Lakes, No Houston for us this year) Any chance you would fill me in on the enhanced tracks?
Again thanks for all the info you have shared thus far.
