OK, It's time for some fun.
As I've mentioned before, my lovely wife is due with our third child on July 9th.
It was suggested that I have a "baby pool". No not one of those plastic things that you fill up with water... it's one of those things where people guess when the kid is born (thanks, Christina_271 for the idea!)
To be in on this baby pool, you don't have to do much. Just post a reply below with your guess on these specifics:
1. Sex of baby (we are waiting to know)
2. Date of birth
3. Time of birth
4. Weight of baby
The winner must have the sex right, then 2, 3, and 4 are tie breakers.
So, fire away. Post your replies so that you can stake your claim. Your guess has to be different than everyone else's.
I'll even give out a prize. We've got many t-shirts sitting around the TechnoKats' Shop. You get your choice in size of a TechnoKats t-shirt. Once you win, you'll have to send me your mailing address and size requested, and a t-shirt is yours.
I'll give you a head start: my wife has been full term with both daughters so far.
Good luck,
Andy B.
;)

That TechnoKat T-Shirt would sure look good on me:cool:
Good Luck!

That doesnt matter, Baker...all 3 births are independent of eachother...same goes for the gender of the baby....unless youve been using that new filtering technology ;)
1. boy
2. 7-13-01
3. 9:23 pm
4. 9 lbs. 2oz
By the way...that 13th IS a Friday...I actually know someone who was born on Fri the 13th under a full moon (his names Dan, but we call him Skitz)...and as freaky as that sounds, hes actually an awesome guy...
Plus, people, if shes going full term with these babies, more likely than not they'll be heavier than youre predicting.

4. 7 lbs. 2 oz
Good Luck Andy!!
I'm going with some warped pychohistory thing here:
1. Girl, estimates say they account for about 52% of the worlds population. Although there is really a 50:50 chance, I'm going for girl here. I have faith in the numbers
2. I also have faith in the doctors, June 9th
3. Time is tricky, say 11:30 pm
4. Given that she will be full term, I'm going in the 8 lb range. Maybe a little less.
Congrats man, hope shes healthy (and it will be a she).
Any names? I'm not going to begain to guess how many time's you've heard that one by now...

Ah ha, it's baby guessing time. I usually lose at these, but, here goes nothing.
Gender: Boy (like I)
Date: 7-11-01 (figured that the baby would scare you for two days)
Time: 7:52 am (once again, like I)
Weight: Let's say a nice round figure of 8 lbs. 8 oz.
Extraneous Guess: The name will be Timothy Andrew Baker. That way, he retains the baker heritage, you get your name in there, and, the little tike can join the "tim" club.

We're getting close, but the doc says that it's probably going to be delivered past the due date. So, all of your early date pickers are most likely out of luck.
I had one pick via email.
Kristen Kelso put in this guess:
Girl, July 9, 8:15pm, 7 lbs. even
We're getting too close, so no more guesses will be taken at this time. I'll let you all know how things went as soon as I can after the delivery... or I'll have Kyle, Clark or Molly post something for me.
Thanks for your support and prayers,
Andy B.

Thanks to the HistoryChannel.com, we now know that Lucy is destined to be a FIRST-er....in 1982 "Eye of the Tiger" was on the top of the charts ;)
Actually, no matter what, I know she'll be great!

**This Day in History - July 12**
**1862 Medal of Honor created
President Abraham Lincoln signs into law a measure calling for the awarding of a U.S. Army Medal of Honor, in the name of Congress, "to such noncommissioned officers and privates as shall most distinguish themselves by their gallantry in action, and other soldier-like qualities during the present insurrection." The previous December, Lincoln had approved a provision creating a U.S. Navy Medal of Valor, which was the basis of the Army Medal of Honor created by Congress in July 1862. The first U.S. Army soldiers to receive what would become the nation's highest military honor were six members of a Union raiding party who in 1862 penetrated deep into Confederate territory to destroy bridges and railroad tracks between Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Atlanta, Georgia.
In 1863, the Medal of Honor was made a permanent military decoration available to all members, including commissioned officers, of the U.S. military. It is conferred upon those who have distinguished themselves in actual combat at risk of life beyond the call of duty. Since its creation, during the Civil War, almost 3,400 men and one woman have received the Medal of Honor for heroic actions in U.S. military conflict.
**1984 Ferraro named vice presidential candidate
Walter Mondale, the leading Democratic presidential candidate, announces that he has chosen Representative Geraldine Ferraro of New York as his running mate. Ferraro, a daughter of Italian immigrants, had previously gained notoriety as a vocal advocate of women's rights in Congress.
Four days after Ferraro was named vice presidential candidate, Governor Mario Cuomo of New York opened the Democratic National Convention in San Francisco with an impassioned retort to Republican President Ronald Reagan's contention that the United States was a "shining city on a hill." Citing widespread poverty and racial strife, Cuomo derided President Reagan as oblivious to the needs and problems of many of America's citizens. His enthusiastic keynote address inaugurated a convention that saw Ferraro become the first woman nominated by a major party for the vice presidency. However, Mondale, the former U.S. vice president under Jimmy Carter, proved a lackluster choice for the Democratic presidential nominee.
On November 6, President Reagan and Vice President George Bush defeated the Mondale-Ferraro ticket in the greatest Republican landslide in U.S. history. The Republicans carried every state but Minnesota--Mondale's home state.
Ferraro left Congress in 1985. In 1992 and 1998, she was an unsuccessful candidate for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate. During President Bill Clinton's administration, she was a permanent member on the United Nations Commission on Human Rights.

Lucy Melissa Baker and mom are both home and relaxing after a very smooth delivery. All went very well. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. My wife is feeling very well, for a mother who just gave birth.
Tom Shindler is the winner (as Jess noted)! Tom, you need to send me an email with your shirt size and shipping address.
Thanks for all of you for "playing", with an extra thanks to Christina for the idea, and Clark for posting the results.
As for my daughter's future membership into RCU, we can only hope. Currently, my oldest daughter's dreams are to be on a robot team with her Daddy and play baseball for the Chicago Cubs... I told her to go for it.
