How hard would it be to pick up while moving the goal behind you??

i would guess that it would be tough but not impossible... now this assumes that the ball is right in front of you and you aren't planning on chasing a loose ball.
The moments on those things are pretty significant.

it wouldn't work along the side wall unless you were able to move the goal to the inside of the playing field while you are moving parallel with the wall picking up balls...

definitely a challenge.

Is this because the robot isn't wide enough? Couldn't a scooper be held vertically before the match begins and then drop down to the side?

I do believe you can have parts drop down as long as they don't drop with intent to kill (damage) and when they are up they don't make the bot too big.

This task if you think about it is very easly done. You have to have a robot do things you would never think about and if you do you might have a robot like ours.

Don't foget. You can change your robot before each match to do something different each time.

go back and look at how teams pick the balls off the wall two years ago. and think to yourself how to do that with a goal.

Well...I don't know if you've thought of this but couldn't you grab and/or - hmm.."or" - hold the goal along the side that's parallel to the wheels? This way you can have a grabber on the side perpendicular to your wheels and therefore be able to obtain balls from the railing at the same time that the goal that you're holding on to is facing the inside of the playing field.:)
