I'm told that they will be releasing pictures shortly, probably right after the first wave of regionals next weekend.

Also, I have reason to believe that they will be a king of the hill bot, but thats all I've managed to find out.

Wow, I am flattered that you are so desperate to see our robot. I feel bad holding out on you, but it won't be long now. Since so many great robots have shown their picture already, I do not think you will be that impressed with our simple creation.

We plan to show a glimpse of our robot after the first week of regionals. By that time, everyone will be more interested in seeing video from the competitions and our robot 's unveiling will not be such a big deal. Maybe we will release a teaser this week. Sorry.

Well yeah, I am afraid, I'm very afraid. Just look at what cool robots are out there. Look at your robot, what are we supposed to do against that? If you get to the top first we might be doomed!

Why the big secret you ask - as DJ says we are afraid.

Isn't it more exciting to show up at the competition and see some robots for the first time. I do not hold it against anyone who does not show their robot. Imagine if everyone released the picture or videos of their robot all right after shipping. Or, imagine if no one showed their picture at all. It would not be as cool as it has been. I go to the CD forum each day in anticipation of seeing a new robot's picture. I like it better this way a few robots to look at each day. And then at the competition, you get to see the ones you did not yet see. I like it!

I have to give credit to the team that started all this. I think (if my memory does not fail me) it was team 269 from Wisc. who first showed an early picture (even before shipping) of their robot back in 1999. Before then, no one that I know of, showed a picture of their robot on the CD website before a competiton.

we aren't going to nationals this year, so the only way I get to see most of the robots is through pictures. As to pictures before regionals, most of the robots I've seen here have only sparked my curiosity. I don't get a chance to wander around in the pits too much (usually fixing our bot). So I make a mental note to go and look at bots from what I've seen of them from pictures.

I'm pretty sure you have the year right, because that was the first time we ever had alliances (2v2). 94-98 had been 1v1v1, probably 92-93 also.

What ever team it was, they started a new trend: the idea that we have to help each other to win. We needed to know what each other's strengths and weaknesses were before we played in a match.

----

A good rumor is that if there is a SOAP Robot Profile about your robot this year, then if you login to www.soap108.com you might see a link to a 111 picture... :ahh:

The ramp on the back of Fluffy, last years bot for S.P.A.M. had her ramp added on at Championship in case we ran into a team with brakes or slightly better traction. Wild Stang the mark you guys made is there on that lexan ramp! Actually if they dn't want to release photos that's their choice cause its their robot. Actually what would be good to see is the original photo and the after competition photos. The ramp on Fluffy was added at Championships.

Personally, as a member of the pit crew I'm more of afraid of what's going to happen during autonomous, if we catch air...flip on our back (we can get up with some effort!!!! :D ), the nature in which we start a match......yeah its going to be fun in the pits (no pun intended and hopefully all we have to do is check fasteners, change the battery, and adjust the drivetrain as needed).

That was an ingenious device. I congratulate you on designing a simple, yet very effective device to counter act our secondary tank drive system. And congratulations on your second place finish. You guys did great. We wanted to pick you, but you were picked by the time it was our turn.
