**IMPORTANT FIRST E-MAIL BLAST**/Registration for the 2003Championship Now Open To All Teams!!!
Greetings Teams:
Because of available space, FIRST has now opened registration for the 2003 Championship in Houston to all teams. Teams wishing to register will be added immediately to the wait list and notified when their registration is accepted. Please register via the Team Information Management System at my.usfirst.org.
Additionally, any teams that have already registered but have NOT paid their registration fee will have their registration cancelled after March 31 to make way for teams on the waiting list (this does not apply to teams that qualified at events this year who still have until April 4 to pay their registration fee.)
If you have additional questions about the Championship, please consult the FIRST webpage at http://www.usfirst.org
**IMPORTANT** Please note, effective today, the Meeting Company will no longer be able to make changes for those who have booked their packages prior to March 28th. The only reservations the Meeting Company will provide will be for those now qualified to attend the Championship (by winning at a regional event) or those being removed from the wait list.

Just because you register doesn't mean you'll get in. The Waiting List opened up to all teams, not the competition. A lot of teams still won't get in.

AHHHH! Now we might be able to go, but does anyone know if they will make an exception for teams that have already recieved their robots back home? We competed in St. Louis and now it's back at school. We haven't had time to make any modifications, but of course we couldn't exactly prove that easily. Anyway, I'm wondering if we should even attempt to get the money together - anyone have a clue?
Thanks

WOOOOOOOO!
Actually now that I think of it I'm not all that surprised... At kick off I remember a direct quote from Kamen "I want to see Reliant Park filled"... You definitly need more than 300 teams to fill that place...
our robot was shipped back to us, but we asked FIRST about the waiting list and they said they would "seal" it.... there was no apparant seal on the outside.... of course we are not going to open it to risk anything, no way are we taking chances on going to Nats. Good count Ryan, there are 6 of us seniors on the team, and i am chomping at the bit to go to this thing.

I don't quite think this is the reason. I believe it would be because of teams (like mine) who are cancelling their trip to Houston because of the war and the like.

Why are you cancelling trips? Even if somebody tried to cancel our trip, we would go anyway.

About how many slots will this open up & will the waiting list be influenced by your actual performance in the regionals? i.e. Semi-finalists get priority over teams who didn't do that well.

As Brandon already stated, we're hoping that we can scrape together some money, but we've already received our robot back from St. Louis. Thinking that we didn't have a chance at Nats, we have opened our crate, but have not changed anything on our robot yet.
Do you think FIRST would take our word for it and still let us go?
(We still can't make it up the ramp or move, I promise! :D :D :D)
I think they wont mind...

I just got a message back from FIRST not to open our crate and that they expected GP to prevail. Since you haven't changed anything, I would close that box ASAP and get on the waiting list!
