Yes, its being held the 14th, I was wondering when the registration opens???
Offically, the spots for non-returning teams open on May 1st.
If it's like last year you'll need to be up to register at midnight, the spots fill fast.
Hope to see everyone there!

Actually, typically registration opens at 8am on May 1st. Teams who competed last year and filled out the survey are automatically preregistered for Battlecry 4. Those teams who did not compete last year or fill out the survey need to register right off the back (spots fill within the first hour or two).
Although the new website isn't up yet, www.wpi.edu/+battlecry will be where you can find all the info and register once it is (right now, it's last year's website so you can check out that and competition history).
So mark June 14th in the calendars... BC4 is going to be great as always!! :)

survey? is there any way for a team that wasn't there last year be able to do this survey or impposible??

No- basically at the end of the competition, teams are asked to fill out a survey about what they liked/disliked about the competition etc. If they fill it out before a certain time, they are automatically pre-registered for the next year... which means Battlecry staff will hold their spot for a certain amount of time and if they register within that time, they will get the spot... otherwise, it'll go to someone on the waiting list.
Most teams from the previous year fill it out.. i know we made sure we did! There are some spots open every year.. if you get online to register right away on May 1st. Team contacts received an email if they are preregistered for the event.. so check with them if you are unsure.
www.wpi.edu/+battlecry <-- more info there soon!

My graduation is also June 14th and I won't be able to participate in it like the rest of my team
Who thinks I should skip my own graduation and pick up my diploma the following Monday?
We realize that many schools have their graduations on that day, and apologize, but that is the only way the scheduling would work out. Even one of the schools that participates with 190 has their graduation that day. Just look at it as an opportunity for the 9-11th graders to do more on the team!
As it stands now, about 28 teams filled out the survey last year, but not all of those teams have confirmed yet. We will update the web site (http://www.wpi.edu/News/Events/BattleCry/) soon with the exact registration info, but in the mean time, any questions can be forwarded to battlecry@wpi.edu. As always, we expect registration to fill up very soon after opening -- last year it was within an hour.
Stay tuned for more info.

Is there a registration cost for new teams?
The regsitration fee is $200 for everyone, and that includes 10 BattleCry4@WPI T-Shirts and a participant medal.
Oh, and since it hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet, there are a total of 36 spots, plus 6 waiting list spots.
can 121 make it 3 battlecry wins in a row? only time will tell ;)

@ 1:30 you have an event called the "Human Player Skills Test"
What is it?
Is it a kind of who can "stack the fastest" type of challange
We haven't worked out all the details yet, but it will basically be who can make the tallest stack in a given amount of time (with tie-breakers being decided by fastest time back to the pad). We will publish the details after running a few tests and working out the kinks.
And in case everyone hasn't figured it out yet, the website is now live at http://www.wpi.edu/News/Events/BattleCry/.
Okay this probably won't happen often but I just have to say...

We aim to please. That is one of the great things about running Battle Cry as an unofficial competition: we can fix games that are broken.
Is WPI going to have any extra team shirts to sell and battlecry shirts???
There will be BattlyCry shirts available for sale in addition to the 10 free shirts provided to each attending team. I don't know about 190 shirts, those may be in short supply.
I see... If there is anyway you can poosibly get me a 190 shirt to buy or something then I would be greatly thankful...

Team 102 is currently in 9th position on the ready reserves list. I was just wondering how many reserve teams made it to Battlecry last year and what the chances are for us attending this year.

I'm not on staff for the event, but I know there were only 30 teams from last year that completed the required 'pre-registration' bit, meaning that there were 6 first-come, first-serve slots. That means the first 6 'ready-reserves' should make it in, and then any spots reserved to teams that pre-registered last year but don't respond by 8 May will go to those others on the list, in the order that they are listed at www.wpi.edu/+battlecry
But like I said, I'm not on staff.. but that's been the talk. Just fyi.

Hey, just wondering what's up with the waiting list. My team has been on the waiting list since the May 1st shortly after 8:00. I understand that you are waiting for other previous participants to respond, but teams that were below us on the waiting list are above us now, what's up with that!? Please fill me in we are really hoping we get in to battlecry!

Ok-
I just talked to one of the staff people to figure out what is going on. Basically the ready reserve list online is not in the correct order (not before, not now). They are going to try and have it fixed by tomorrow (Wednesday). 8 May is the final day for pre-registered to register, then all spots will be filled, and you will know for sure.
So try checking tomorrow for the list, but all teams in the final 36 should be officially up on 9 May, pending payments.
Hope that helps. And if your team does not make it in, but you are coming anyway, there may be volunteering spots open for field resetting and stuff.

I hope so... It won't be hard to miss me... Once you see the wig you'll never forget it...

Hey is there anyway we can get a mentor tournament going on at Battlecry???? Pretty Plz!!!!!!
the battlecry schedule tends to be pretty packed....i don't think they'd be able to fit one of those in...
ColleenShaver

Hey Todd-
As fun as they were at Mayhem-- it's true the schedule at BC is usually packed so tight that it would be nearly impossible to get one in (on saturday). The staff does a great job of keeping the match-to-match cycle even tighter than many regular season competitions.
88 isn't all that far from worcester, right? i wanna drive our robot too :).. but i'd need some competition.
Kyle Fenton

There will be 4 VCRs hooked to the video feed of the matches, teams that wish to video tape their matches need only bring a VHS cassette. Teams on the field have priority for these machines.
This is a question for anyone on team 190. Can I bring my own VCR and tape the whole event? I have VCR cable splitters that add more connections for people.
ColleenShaver
08-06-2003, 13:41
Yes.
In the email sent to all team leaders regarding Battlecry SITREP #3 it says:
"2. Video recording clarification (there will be 4 running VCRs-you need only bring blank tapes). You may still bring a VCR if you care to tape more than your own matches"
Where on the WPI campus is battlecry held?
ONLY ONE MORE DAY!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Hey this is Ogre under my sister's name.
If you read this before you leave, we need to start a series of mentor/college competitions. I know i'm gonna try my damnedest to get on the field, and I know Tom Schindler wants to as well.
