Real Names, Real Faces

Since Andy Baker is encouraging people to use their real names on the Chief Delphi Forums, I would like to encourage CD members their real faces in the Who Am I? gallery. It is just natural to associate a name with a face. Then people could recognize each other at competitions (unless you don't want to be recognized my name or face). You could meet people from far away teams for the first time and feel like you already know them b/c you see them on the CD Forums. The whole purpose of the forums is to interact with other members of FIRST. Overall, I think more pictures on the forums would increase the community spirit of the ever-growing FIRST community.

So I challenge you to post a picture of yourself, and anyone else (like half of your dorm floor:D ). You can upload pictures here (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/pictures.php?s=&action=uploadform&quiet=verbose&direction=DESC&trows=4&perrow=3) . Just select Who Am I gallery and your file. The Title will be your CD name with team number in parenthesis, and you can add a description if you want.

In the age of digital and web cameras, It shouldn't be hard to get a digital picture of yourself. I admit it took me a while to get a pic up b/c I don't have a digital camera and I kept forgetting to scan a picture. I didn't have one till after the Chesapeake Regional this year. Try to be creative with your pictures. The "You on a Segway" picture is getting cliche (but still cool :), guess I am just jealous:( ). If you add a picture to your profile, reply to this thread so we can all see it.

I think every CD picture I've posted has had me with sunglasses on but I think most people have been able to recognize me at competitions. Maybe I'll dig another picture up but there are hardly any without me and my sunglasses....they're just a staple in the Southern Californian wardrobe!

Well, I have a picture of me from the Pittsburg regional w/ DJ, Clark, and other Techno Kats crew members. (I'm the one in the center w/ the white jersey. That was our team shirt!!) I am going to get a nother one of me taking my picture with Dean or Woodie (I have both!!)

I'm the one on the right. Can't hide from a picture that you don't know is being taken. I did my best, out of 500 pictures, I'm in about 8. And in my 500 pictures, I'm in 2. so 10 out of 1000 pictures, pretty good evasion!

Oh, and I got a haircut again, I look a little different.

If your hair is green you should definatly post it. Green Hair is the Coolest!!!:D I now have the greenest hair left on my team since my haircut left a lot of green hair (I though I would just have tips). Conrad on our team shaved his green beard and buzzed all his long green hair (we were calling him: "The Green Amishman":)) I have an after picture but no before pic to post. If someone esle on the team has a before after pic of Conrad please post it.

i used to go to nationals just to see, but now i'm really excited to really truly experience it.

and i don't like putting up my last name. especially with anything relating to FIRST.

i made the mistake of doing that on a forum about segway owners.

they had to shut down my account. too many people asked if i could "hook them up".

anyway, i'm excited to finally be just another kid in the crowd. it gets kind of old.

especially when people call you lil' kamen. many think it's funny.

i am not one of those many. lol.

anyway, i'll be at nationals, look for team 1923!

My pic is me at the UTC scrimmage last year. I look basically the same cept I got the eyes fixed last summer so no glasses now. Oh and the real name is Peter Matteson as it says in my AKA. dzdconfusd was my original AOL screen name back at version 2.0 in about 1995 and I still like to use it because I can remember it. If you haven't figured it out its an abreviation for Dazed & Confused that fit the allowable number of characters for a username back n the dark ages of the internet.

Oh and I go by Pete.

Well, it looks like CD media works now. Just uploaded my who am I image with it. Couldn't find any from build season, so I had to settle for a picture from the summer of me in front Stonehenge. I'll update it to a FIRST related picture if anyone ever manages to pry the camera out of my hands... :rolleyes:

I see some of the pics aren't displaying right neither. Some of them are cropped until you click on them for the full image. Take mine for example, it's now centered on the Mustang and only has my arm in it until you go to the full pic. I wonder if they need to be resized?
