This may be a bit off-topic, but I love the show and know a lot of technically minded people who enjoying watching the show every chance they get.

I was just wondering if the appeals to the majority of FIRST participants (students, mentors and Engineers)

Respond accordingly..

I really enjoy the show and do watch it ever chance I get. It's really funny how much yelling goes into every bike they make. The Paul Sr. / Paul Jr conflict is really quite amusing. Not to mention the similarities to FIRST and the really awesome bikes.

I watch every episode of Monster Garage too. Jesse James is a really cool guy.

agreed...

both shows are great entertainment, a bit extreme at times (boarderline ridiculous (Monster Garage - Wedding Chaple project)

but both shows have some incredible fabrication moments...

ie welding, cnc, power coating, 600 hp drag racing engines, etc...

They were interviewed the other day on Leno I believe. They both (jr/sr) said it really isn't as bad as the show makes it out to be. Remember out of all the yelling most of these are 3-4 day episodes. The editors are the one's that make the decision to include it because it draws an audience. Audiences love conflict.

I liked Monster Garage best, then Junkyard Wars. American Chopper would probabaly fall after that, but I've only seen a few episodes. I even watch Trading Spaces once and a while

I love watching American chopper its a great show, i love how they show how the processes are done like the powdercoating and the CNCing. I also like how its very artistic. I also love monster garage. The last episode was pretty bad all they did was nothing special. The thing i dont like about monster garage is when its like, and that night we gave it a paint job. Anyone who know what goes into a nice paint job like they get knows it takes more than a few hours. There is aloooot of preping and alooot of painting, thats why on american chopper the painter is like ill do it in three days. Imagine painting a car and then painting a gascan. Junkyard wars is the all time fav though i love the ingenuity they have. Next season should be interesting because they cast the people not the teams. I guess they want people to bicker at eachother like in monster garage or monster house.

It must be a good show if I actually sat down and watched a whole entire episode.

I watch it when I can, but it puts me in the doldrums. How come he gets to concoct those beauties of wheels, and all I get to do is put a weight saving five hole pattern in ours:( ? I want the build season extended to seven weeks, so I have a whole one to make pretty shiny things:D .

Unfortunatly the line for the bike display was about 4+ hours long, needless to say, i didnt actually see them in person. but they had the spider bike, the firebike, and the jet bike. thier bikes are sick!
