View Full Version : Team's Impressions

Here is my question: Based on the letter we received last season, what is your team's impression of the qualifying procedure for this year? Phrased slightly different:
1. Does your team think the point system from last year is in play to qualify this year?
2. Does your team think the odd/even system would still be in play for this season?
The reason I ask is that Lavery's question makes me think FIRST is going to change the process this year and not wait until next season.

1. Yes.
2. No.
I think to be fair, the qualification "point system" will still be vaild (for at least 1 more year). However, I do not think the Atlanta venue will be able to accomodate all the "even" teams this year. I believe FIRST will (and should) still try to give a "free ride" to some teams, but the system for doing so will be different than odd/even (anyone for: "all teams divisible by 229 are allowed to go"?;))

Sure, but that's everybody :) Maybe all teams evenly divisible by 229? :)

But then wouldn't we get an error for dividing by zero? :p
I think that the point system should be used again. I don't think that it is fair of FIRST to remove the point system without letting us know a year ahead.
I don't know if the even/odd system will be used, as last year they opened registration for everyone. We will see in good time.
whatre you talking about, registration hasnt been opened to anyone yet.

I believe he is referring to the open registration period around the 4th week of the 2003 competition season.
