The MLB Playoffs are almost here, who are your favorites, who has no chance....heck who is even going to get in?
My Predictions for the playoff contenders:
NL
East: Atlanta (Obviously)
Central: Cubs
West: Giants (Obviously)
Wild Card: Marlins
AL
East: Yankees
Central: Twins
West: A's
Wild Card: Red Sox

Could this be the year for the Red Sox? Alright, we ask that every year. But still...

it is... i'm depending on manny, nomah, and pedro to finally chump old man steinbrenner... I'm also hoping the phillies make the playoffs, even though 1. i doubt they will 2. they'll get beaten fast.. I'd like to see Chicago and Boston in the world series- how awesome would that be?

If the Red Sox and the Cubs make it to the World Series, the universe will end during Game 7 after 9 innings of scoreless baseball...
Seriously though, I think it'll be the Braves and the Red Sox in the WS with the Braves winning in 6.

I think the Cubs have the stuff to go all the way. They have the Manager, (Thanks San Fransisco) who knows how to effectively use his entire roster, the pitching, the offense and the defense. Tonight Estes (their worst starter) came out and pitched a complete game shutout. When your 5th starter is performing well as your other 4 aces, (Prior, Wood, Zambrano and Clement) they'll be in good shape.
Also, people have been saying the Cubs will lose because Sammy is in a slump. Yeah well he hasn't had the best of seasons, but the rest of the team has picked up the slack. Ramierez, Lofton, Simon, Alou, and Grudzielanek have really done well. If the Cubs can hold together and take the division, they will go far. The Braves are the "favorites" but remember, they lost badly in the playoffs last year as the heavy favorites.
Go Cubs!

As long as the Cubs don't win, I'm fine with anything that happens. It's weird, because it seems the northern half of Indiana roots for the Cubs, and the Southern half cheers for the Cardinals.
Go Cardnials :)

My world series predictions: Boston Red Sox versus the Chicago Cubs. But we never actually find out who wins because the sixth game is a compilation of "the best of citizen's bank's not your typical fan" hosted by NESN's Tom Caron. It's a darn good thing NESN even though i love it, doesn't have world series rights! Too much side crap, not enough baseball. IN all seriousness though, I think the sox will take it!!!!

Oakland in four my left foot!! your forgetting that oakland is going with a 3-man pitching rotation. So even if they did sweep the sox (which will never happen...ever!), by the second time through the rotation, oakland will fall apart.
Sox and Cubs in the world series. Sox in 6

Hmmm, so according to this logic you're saying you're a nobody DJ? :) Sorry, it's been a while and I haven't been in tigerbolt for ages so I had to get it out of my system.
Anyway, my attention span is too short for baseball so I don't really care but I'll just mix things up and say go Twins since I'm from Minnesota. I did it last year when they were playing the A's and then the Angel's and got to piss off people on my floor both from Northern and Southern California. Fun stuff.

Oh, come on... we all know it'll be Steinbrenner's Aging Piggy Bank vs. the Bambino Curse in the ALCS. The winner of that is going to take the World Series. Cubs-Braves is going to be interesting. If the Braves win, they're probably heading to the series. If the Cubs win, they'll either destroy the Marlins in the LCS, or fight the Giants through 7 (no comment on the winner yet). Either way, an American League team is taking it all.

Yeah Eddie. The AL is just too darn strong this year. I have a feeling that whoever takes the sox/a's game is going to be the winner of it all. I'm not just saying this because i hate the yanks, but i don't think they've got it in them this year.

If I remember correctly, the Cubs played the Yankees this year and won 2 of 3....They lost the first one 5-3, won 5-2, and 8-7. Oddly enough that was before the Cubs picked up Simon, Ramierez, and Lofton. You really can't say the AL is stronger this year then the NL, they both were about the same. Like every year before it could go either way.

For the record, Kristina was rooting for the Angels last year...so I guess it takes a nobody to know a nobody... :p
Giants are going to the world series. Their entire team isnt just bonds, everyone is contributing, and their pitching staff is deep.
I think well see Giants vs Atlanta in the division championship series. I dont care at all about the AL, so I wont even make a prediction.
