Team 201 will also be attending the Great Lakes Regional in Ypsilanti.
On a side note, is this 234's first GLR trip, or have you been up here before?
Midwest regional for us. :D

I was told today that there are more Brazilian teams coming this year! It is up to 4 or 6.
Also one UK Team and one German team also joining us in 2004.
This is great news.
Anyone else?

I'm not sure, but from my knowledge on the team the farthest we've made it up there is the Midwest Regional, but we may have gone further north before my times.
The Firebirds will be at the Philly Regional!

For our second event, we are trying to decide if we will goto Pittsburg or to the championship this year (since we are and even team, and havent been to the championship since '99!)

Cooney Quest (#0269) will be deviating from usual tradition and has registered for the St. Louis Regional, if we have enough funds we will attend Midwest as a 2nd, or if we qualify for nats we will try out best to get down there.

According to our team's website (http://www.cyberblue234.com/resultsawards.html) we have not attended the Great Lakes Regional before.

Team 188 will be going to the Canadian Regional and the Championships because we've got enough points + the even number team thing...
But depending if we get enough money, we might consider going to another regional which we haven't decided yet.

Team 217 will be going to the Detroit Regional. This will be the first time in 4 years we will not be going to Great Lakes, so I will miss having our pit next to 201 and all my buddies on the GM teams (65, 67, and 68); but change is good. Hopefully we will see some of you at Midwest, too.

Well, I suppose we'll just have to be at another regional together :p After all, what would it be without 217 next door?

The TechnoKats are signed up for Great Lakes.
We plan on hopping into Midwest once the second round of regional selection is open.
It's good to go back to GLR. Our last visit was nice, as we were runner-up with Juggernaut and the Huskie Brigade in 2000. However, our visit did not go as well as planned. Those nasty FEDS knocked us off of the bar and the Chiefs stole our black ball. We want revenge. :)

What the heck? Everyone's going to Great Lakes! Boy was my prediction wrong. I told most of my team that I predicted many teams would go to Detroit instead of Great Lakes (especially the ones in the Detoit area). Maybe I'll come watch.

Looks like the Great Lakes Regional is going to be a popular one this year! It'll make for some great competition.
Also, 234 hopes to sign up for the Midwest Regional and then Nationals.

Well, you do have quite a bit of company in Detroit. 33,47, and 308, to name a few. It's possible that they may open additional spots later, too. If so, 201 will probably try to sneak in there. And, you have to admit, GLR is a lot bigger, so it's obvious that a lot more teams will end up going there, for the simple reason of numbers.

Oh, it always is. GLR is definitely the most competitive regional I've ever been to.

The biggest and best in the country but not FIRST. We Canadians are coming on strong with the biggest and best. Join the wave and come on over to the biggest event next to championships.

That's why I said "in the country" :p I would've said "in FIRST" but I knew the Canadian regional is the biggest, this year. Now, the best... that still could be up for debate ;)

Better yet Paul, why don't you sign up as the MC? Dan Green will peobably be a guest announcer as he always was at all the events we attended last year. Just think how good you guys worked together at IRI - it was very entertaining.
And yes of course, we will also sign up for the Midwest later. We have learned from the past that GLR fills up fast, so we have always signed up for that one first. It is tradition for us to do GLR and MWR, since their inception.

way to represent steve.. heh
im curious, did everyone pretty much determine what regional they wanted to go to right off the bat, or are you still waiting for financial/commitment concerns?
for us the canadian is by default of course, but its always interesting to see where people go = D

If this happens, my sympathies go out to the referees. Can we get a "belly check"?!
... and, of course, the return of Dan's "Raul inpression" would be nice.

Raul & Andy,
The Great Lakes Regional is Dave Verbrugge's turf. He is my MC hero and would not want to compete for his domain. Maybe Dan and I can do MidWest together ... who is the regional coordinator for MidWest?

-Paul Yeah, that's true; but maybe Dave could use a bio break and you can do a few matches along with Dan.

2nd Regionals anybody, registration is next Friday 10/31.
Cooney Quest should be hopping into the Midwest Regional pool for our 2nd regional. Unless we are lucky enough to win one of those Tier 1 Lottery Spots :p , this will be our first year competing in 2 regionals.

We made our decisions. We signed up for So Cal Regional, will be signing up for Phoenix, and will be going to Nationals (based on last year's points).
So looking forward to things heating up again.

296 is signed up for BAE again - we'll probably be the only Canadians there once more. We've also just registered for the Canadian regional after one year of absence.
You can expect Team 25 at the New Jersey Regional and at the Chesapeake Regional. If the upcoming season is anything like last season, it is going to be a great year. Both events have many seasoned veterans that are due to be in attendance, making for solid competition, and of course, a multitude of rookie teams waiting to get their feet wet. It's going to be an interesting season.

Same goes for 1089. We're looking forward to the veteran competition this year, and I'm excited to see our improvments from last season, as well as all the other great teams at these competitions.

Well scratch that, 234 will not be going to GLR. We instead switched to the Arizona Regional, and will also be attending the Midwest Regional :) Arizona was a great regional last year, and I hope it's the same or even better this time around.
