It looks very interesting. It seems to use the air muscle technology.

It looks very interesting. It seems to use the air muscle technology.Very cool, but I'm watching TechTV right now and it's going to be on this next show (TechLive). All I heard is "Is this robot a domestic assistant or just for a movie?". It should be very interesting to see what they say about it.

I'll post more once I watch it.

EDIT:

The maker of the I Robot domestic assistant just released a trailer on its website (http://www.irobotnow.com/index.php) showcasing how far we've come since R2-D2. Confusingly, the film version (http://www.thezreview.co.uk/comingsoon/i/irobot.htm) of the Isaac Asimov book "I, Robot" is due out in theaters next year. That's what the TechLive website shows. Looks like the trailer for the film is the same as that video link you gave us.

EDIT2: Looks like this is the same TechLive i watched yesterday. Since I didn't catch the first part yesterday, you probably got this info from it.

Yeah it would be neato if this stuff was real, but its all for the irobot movie coming out in july.

If you look at the IMDB site on the movie you can see that there are NS5's cast and people talk about it on the message board. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0343818/)

I was kind of assuming that people would realize that the website was for a movie. Especially since it operates on the three laws of robotics.:) Though the robot does look realistic. The air muscles give it a nice touch of anthropomorphization. I heard that the movie will actualy include real hobby robots and will star Will Smith. Now all I need to do is read Irobot. http://robots.net/article/1058.html

From what I've been hearing, when the trailer first ran in theaters, more than a few people walked out thinking that it was an actual product that was being advertised instead of a movie... :)

I'm not sure if I would have done that myself, and I'll never know - I saw the TechTV story first. The ending - "Three Laws Safe" - is also a pretty major tipoff.
