I havent seen any new diagrams, however I think last year's diagrams are still usable in this situation.
i am looking for the exact same thing... we want to assemble the from-the-box drive train and adjust it to be 4WD
so if anyone has a link to it..please

Hey,
My team is also looking for a diagram (and instructions) of the drive train... I do have the exploded diagram of the drive train from last year off of the FIRST website (2003 Archived Documents), but it's not detailed enough for us.
Thanks,
Vienny
i can assemble last year's gearbox off by heart... its how we use this year's, the one with the sprockets....thats 'driving' me insane and plus to that the sprockets are coming late for us
Some photos of the sprocket drive system are posted in the gallery.

This prototype device was constructed to illustrate how a sprocket system could be built from the kit. It is not an optimum design.
The manufactured pieces include:
1. duplicating the two flat clamping plates in the kit (which can be done by drilling flat plates)
2. delrin spaces (washers) between the sprocket and inner bearing and between the outer bearing and the wheel
3. HDPE mounted on 2x4 pieces for the skid plates.
I'm happy to answer questions about the prototype. Feel free to email me.
thanx a lot, this is great stuff!!!
Really appreaciate it! :D

Hey Everybody,
I've been playing around on this site and I found this:
http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/2004/Workshops/Basics_of_Drive_Systems.pdf
It's the Powerpoint presentation presented to the ROokies teams at the Rookie Workshop. It appears to have a pretty step by step assembly (I haven't tried it yet, though, so I don't know how easy it is).
THis is what we're planning on doing, maybe it'll help one of you.
