servo problems

been searching the threads for hours...if anyone has been having problems with their servos. I have two servos switching the transmition of "spare parts" (our copy of our competition bot) connected to the same pwm03 on our RC. no matter what our code outputs from that pwm out the servos do nothing. we tested the servos, y-cable, and outputs. what's left?! am i missing something the only thing we can come up with is that old servos dont work w/ new controller....but that makes no sense...a servo is a servo! :ahh: :ahh: :ahh:

Do you have the backup battery hooked up? The power for the servos comes solely from backup input.

have you tried just a 7.2volt input directly to the servo? If it moves it's still good; if not it could be fried. Now if all your servos don't work than the only thing I can think of is that the controler is not providing enough power for the servo.

On the servos the black and red wires carry power to the servos, and the white/yellow wire (I am not sure what the colour is) is a signal wire which tells the servo what to do. Simply applying power to the servo won't tell you anything because it won't be receiving any signal, so it won't have any instructions to follow, as a result it will just sit there looking pretty. Make sure the servo is connected to a PWM output, and not one of the relay outputs, and make sure that particular channel is active, properly programed, and assigned to a control.

If you built an EDU/BETA bot this year, plug the servo into the radio system you purchased, power it up, and it should work (make sure it is plugged in properly). This servo was originally designed for use with radio contol systems like the ones used to control the BETA/EDU Robots. If it STILL doesn't work, it's probably pooched.

regarding servos, how many servos are we allowed to use this year. This is because the manual doesnt answer the question if the servo is a motor or not?
