My team and I need to get our hands on some 15" wheels that are less than 1 1/2" thick, but we can't seem to find them. Do you guys know where we could get our hands on a couple?

Have you looked at Skyway? If so, I would check other wheelchair wheel manufacturers. I dont think you are going to find many, if any, however.

Check out www.skywaywheels.com under the wheelchair wheels section. They are the supplier for the KOP wheels and have been a FIRST supplier for some time now.

You could make them.

Just print out a full-size template, paste it onto some 1" thick lexan (or plywood). Then use a bandsaw to carefully "nibble cut" out the shape. You could then throw it on a lathe to make sure they are perfectly round. Attach some timing belt for traction, and *bam* instant custom step-climbing wheel.

Note: this is obviously a MUCH simplified method of manufacture. If you really want to be cool you could do something MUCH more fancy (or use a fancier material).
