A test render of one of the pieces of our animation. Took a few hours to complete.

Wow... great job ... care to tell us what that is?
two thumbs up...
that's the best render ive seen in this forum.
question:
1) did you use third party renderers?
2)lol, what is that?

Wow, you could pass that off for being real. Very nice job.

Actually, not to be conceded or anything, but I am the animation team. I'm the only one on it. :)
As for what it is and what I used, it's supposed to be a industrial laser cutter, obviously they are much different in real life, but I want a simpler, more sleek look if you will. Tomorrow or so I'll show an animation of when it's working (I'm really lazy right now and I don't want to wait eight hours for it to render, that much refraction is very hard, even for my computer, to calculate quickly)
Third party renderer I used is Brazil r/s 1.0. The only feature I used on it was the global illumination, there are actually scripts out there that can do it, but I didn't want to load it in. The materials are all defaults with some obvious fiddling.

I thought it looked like a laser of some sort. It just didn't look like a realistic one. But other than that you did an excellent job my friend! :]
