i don't really know a lot of inventor yet but when i get the dimensions in an idw drawing, it only shows the dimensions to 2 decimal places. is there any way to change that?

I know what youre talking about. Go to Tools on the main toolbar, then click Document Settings. Once in Document settings, click on :Lin. Dim. Display Precision. Change it to the appropriate number of decimal places. If this doesnt work, feel free to IM me at "Coryteam100" for help.

Right click the dimension -> tolerances -> percision

Keep in mind that percision indicates tolerances unless a tolerance is otherwise called out.

I'm not sure. It is good practice to set them individually though. The default is two decimal places for a reason. Specifying tighter tolerences for a dimension is not a trivial action and some serious consideration should be put into it.

What I'm trying to say is you should start at two decimal places then decide on the tollerances for each dimension as you go. This may sound odd but is good practice.

There is probably a way to do it though. Try editing the default ANSI format settings.
