View Full Version : UTC New England Regional Tailgating
It's our 10th birthday and RAGE wants to party! :p
RAGE is excited about tailgating on Saturday, March 18 at the UTC New England Regional. We're contacting the Regional Director to make sure it's OK with the venue.
Weather permitting, we'll bring some portable gas grills and some food - you bring some food, some folding chairs, some team spirit (who has the hair dye???) - and let the party begin! :D

BUTit also says stuff about not allowing signs and banners, so take this with a grain of salt till you hear from the UTC regional directors or someone similar.
Considering the fact that this is an event that is taking place during the
"off season" of the venue I am assuming it is not allowed but hoping that it just may be.
BTW if it is allowed, count on Team 237 to be participating in some tailgating!

Hmmmm...ooops! Anyone notice that plume of smoke and circling birds overhead in the parking lot at UTC last year? Yeahhhh that was me with the grill at lunchtime. No one said anything though, so I'd imagine its alright. Either way, I'd love to drop by and send my best to Rage if they did this!

While you are asking permission for that, can you find out if there will be a Wi-Fi network available at UTC as well????

I was actually thinking about actaully using our darn webcam their to broadcast, but LAN parties are an option as well I guess!! lol

Our team is up for this but why only on saturday why not every day people got to eat! let us know what we should bring
RAGE has received permission to host a tailgating party on Saturday, March 20, in the parking lot at the Meadows prior to the pits opening at the UTC New England Regional (weather permitting).
We will post more details after we get them worked out... stay tuned!

We will eat breakfast with you if you bring our sprockets that you machined for us to use in our drivetrain (which broke)
I'll make sure our CNC guys see this post! Sprockets for Breakfast??? A fair trade I think!
Anyway, we're looking forward to seeing everyone. I told a lot of the CT teams about it at NJ Regional. Please spread the word to the other teams coming to UTC.
Yes we will bring your sprockets just don't eat them becuase then you will have to find some more on your own. :yikes:
We have a big banner that we are trying to collect everyone's buttons on... so please stop by the tailgate party on Saturday morning and make sure your team has contributed!

Tailgaiting should be lots of fun.......i'm really looking forward to it (although it does mean me getting up earlier) anyone's invited, you just need to give us an advance notice of attendence and probably about how much they would eat, but anyone is welcome!

On a side note, is the team party going to be at the Expo Center again this year? On FIRST's website I believe it just says that it will be on site.
Just curious. I don't think that we will have enough room to party in Tne Meadows because of all the robots which I am assuming will take up the space in the lobby.
Last year at the expo center was fun.
(Even though I did hurt my back playing foozeball..)

Yea from what I have herd it will be at the expo center a lot like last year more of those "blow up things" like foozball should be some good times yet again. ill try to find out what exactly will be at the expo center if i find out ill let you know
RAGE has some ideas for what we want to do regarding food, music, etc.
Weather permitting, we will have a motor home on site at the Meadows which will allow us to serve coffee and act as a general gathering place. We are thinking of serving cold foods - danish, donuts, juice, etc. and are looking for donations from area businesses.
We'd like to know how many teams might be coming, so we know if we are going to have 20 or 200 people there!
If your team is interested in helping out for the Tailgating party early in the morning on Saturday, March 20, please PM me.

how can you hurt your back playing fooseball?
Because this was no ordinary fooseball. It was llife size inflatable human fooseball. Kind of hard to explain without seeing it in person.
Invitations went out yesterday to all the team contacts for those teams who will be competing at the UTC New England Regional. For those of you who are coming to watch the competition, you are more than welcome to come celebrate with us!

Yes, I was at the Meadows tonight and the parking lot is covered in snow... So maybe we'll have to build snowmen on Saturday morning (more Gracious Professionalism than a snowball fight!)...
Oh come on we are engineers here I think we can do something better than a little ol' everday snow man lets do something challenging like a scale replica of the Meadows!!!!
