Hello:
Have anyone of you been successfull in implemetning the line tracking in the past?
WE need assistance to determine how high from the ground to install our sensors.
We appreciatre your answer

the best way to find out is experimentation - hook a banner up to the edubot or the frc, write some code to echo the input, and watch the output console while playing around with the height.

We have the sensors working this year, they are mounted about 1.5-2 inches from the ground. They have to be adjusted to about all the way toward the plus side to work, but this may also be due to our lighting conditions.

Even better, just hook up the power and ground leads of one of the sensors to a 9 volt battery. You don't need to hook it up to a controller to tell when it's seeing it's reflection. It has a little LED on the front of it that will indicate what it's seeing.

This might be a dumb question, but how would you write the line following code using two banners, and how would you place them on the robot.
We have tried to write our own code, but it wouldn't work. (I don't have it on this computer.)
Also do you have to connect one sensor to two inputs, or can it work with just one?

I think the code went something like this:

Each sensor usually needs its own set of inputs, but if you _really_ need an extra input, it is possible to use the analog ones for multiple digital inputs.

one banner sensor needs one digital input. the banner sensor has two signal wires, but they are always exact mirrors of one another - when one is on, the other is off. just choose the one that is more convenient.
