Compile error

the file mcc18.exe is missing and we cant compile. i downloaded the c18 IDE and its not in it.
i tried using a different exe in the \bin folder and now im getting alot of sytax errors in the uneditable files.

also which debugger should i be using

I had the same problem. If you're using Windows XP, make sure you're running it on the same profile that you installled it on. Secondly, if that doesnt work, remove and re-install the software. About the debugger, no idea :p

im on the same profile in xp thats not it. the file it wants does not exist and i installed the c18 ide twice

You should have received the compiler on CD with your edu Robot. If you didn't receive it/don't have it/lost it, you can download a 60 day evaluation version from the Microchip web site (http://asp.microchip.com/1010/pline/tools/picmicro/code/mplab18/10167/index.htm).

yah i know i dled it

i figured it out. in the dlable ide the file it wants is called c18demo.exe for anyone else who gets the same error
