flashing LEDs

our team got 4 of the flashing LED lights in the kit. they are awfly dim. can we perhaps solder more LEDs in the encloser? last year we substetuted the 12v bulb with a halagon version for aded effect. any input?

im sure if FIRST gave them then they are expecting to people to use them unaltered
