Beautiful! I'll surely be stopping by in Annapolis.

I do have a question, though. What are the gear ratios in high, medium, and low gears?

sweet drivetrain! how fast do you go at all three speeds?

We'll see you at all 3 of your competitions..

Hey guys,
I am not sure what I am allowed to say on the tranies, involving ratios(which i don't know) or functionality (which i do know, but should check with the higher ups before saying anything they might not want me to say) it shouldn't be a problem , but i don't want to be sacrificed to the robot gods for any thing they don't want me to say.
But I can say it is wicked fun to drive. When I say wicked fun, I mean w00t w00t. and wow, it can be super powefull and real fast.
See you all at the comp's.

beautiful!

do you have problems with your center of gravity when holding the 2X ball from the center going back down the 6 inch or do you never climb it in that autonomous period?

Also did you go to your full base dimensions? If not what dimensions did you use?

In auton. we do not grab it, but position ourselves to. It is a relatively simple operation after auton. My fellow driver and i have been practicing a bit so we are getting the ball faster each time. As for the step, we have almost no problems. Itis basically a ram and go ordeal with 12.5" wheels. The center of gravity isn't a problem, especialy when we have that huge "fishing pole" arm in the direction we want it.

Thanks for the questions keep 'em coming.

(I am still waiting for the ok on the trannies)

[edit] We are two inches short in the length of the bot, other than that we have a full footprint.

Beautiful job guys, looks like you have a great machine once again. Looking forward to seeing you at PARC, and best wishes throughout the season.

To answer some of your questions here I am! Our frame is 28'' by 34'' by 59''

If I did my calculations right our ratios are as follows: Low range: 46:1, Medium range 15:1, and High range 12:1.

As for the specs on the trannies they will be coming in the upcoming weeks ;)

I am in the process of drawing up the internals of the trannies in Inventor for all to see.

One thing not mentioned by my fellow team members is that our shifting is acheived by using two air cylinders and a total of about 1.5" to hit all three gears. Brad is correct on the ratios.....at least they look good to me I haven't sat down with my calculator yet :yikes: The design is very reliable and will take as much abuse as you can throw at it. As far as top speeds go we haven't sat down and run them yet. but it's quick 3.7 seconds to the 10 point ball and that's only cause we slow down to turn :D
