Congratulations to Andy Baker for winning the Woodie Flowers Award in 2003.
Andy we have all said this at one time and another and i will say it again, because you deserve it!
Congratulations!
Congratulations, Andy! Truly incredible that you can balance robotics and be a good father, while my homework gives me enough trouble. Good luck in '04!
And nice work to Amanda, John, Brandon, and whoever else worked to set this up. Great idea! ;)
Baker for president?
Anyways, I just wanted to post and say how thrilled I am that we got this feature up and running. I'm excited that we get to recognize the WFA winners who have had such an impact on this community.
I'm also glad we get to lead off with my friend Andy Baker, who... as you all know, is... the man.
Everyone knows why Andy is great, and I don't really have any stories to add... He has always been there to show me support, and mentor me. I'm glad to be his friend, and glad for the things he's taught me.
I'd like to take the time to share this:

This is the thread that was started to Congratulate and Thank Andy when he won the WFA last year.
It always brings a smile to my face when I see the huge outpouring of support and congratulations for Andy that took place in this thread. I actually go back in, and re-read it when I've had a particularly negative FIRST day, or when I've seen something so deplorable on this forum that makes me wonder why I post here.
It is uplifting, and great to see Andy for what he is.
A pillar, and hero of FIRST and the FIRST community.
So again,
Thank you Andy and Congratulations.
Your friend,
John
PS - Ohh... and that is definitely the cutest UFH pic we've ever seen. ;)

I don't think it's possible for us to thank Andy enough. I'm here on another team a thousand miles away and still got help from him! Thanks again Andy.
And as a side note - that's a really cute picture:) That's how I felt after the craft left Thursday.

Andy-
Congrats once again! You'll always be a role model for mentors to strive for and an inspiration to all FIRST members. You're more than deserving of everything you get.
Thanks for being a great friend throughout my time in FIRST. Even though you told us to stay at the Kokomotel, we won't hold a grudge. But if you're coming for Battlecry this year, WPI would love to have you and we know of this great place to stay...... ;) (seriously)
Congrats!

Andy, what can I say? You're a great mentor, role model, friend, and what's best about it... you are just doing something you love (as we all are). Your enthusiasm is contagious, your ideas are appreciated, and your presence is always and indicator that everyone will have a good time ;).

Once again, great job Baker!
You are very high on a long list of people in FIRST who have influenced my being. That being the case with my only running into you on a limited basis, I can't imagine how lucky the Techokat's students must be to have your service full time. Keep up the good work buddy, cya in Atlanta!

PS - Ohh... and that is definitely the cutest UFH pic we've ever seen. ;)
Agreed.....that is the cutest UFH pic ever! I have a picture like that of my dad with my two cats sprawled out on his chest. Who found this picture?
I think this is a great idea, by the way...we may know the names of the older WFA's, but most of us probably don't know too much about them. And even though we hear from Baker every day, we now know just a little more about him that we didn't know before.

PS - Baker, I hope to be able to balance family, work, and life one day as seamlessly as you do. Great job!
PPS - 500th Post! :)

Congratulations Andy! =) This is a long and much deserved attainment for you. Thanks for all the good things you did for IRI (and making me that name tag at the last minute), and all the correspondence i've have with you here and there. I've heard nothing but good things about you (even from DJ ;)) Once again, congratulations, and enjoy =)
