Is removing the black plastic motor cage on the drill transmission and reinstalling it the other way a reliable method of keeping the drill in LOW gear? It seems to work but we haven't tried it in any matches. I know that an internal spacer ring is better but this is the best we can do for now. Zip tie didn't work. We keep the shifter clips in with a rubber bands and hoseclamp.

Teams did this last year as well, and as far as I've heard, it's worked fine.
