i saw a thread What was the coolest robot.. and i thought well the robot isnt all of the team.... so i have another question..... Which team has the coolest team shirts.... whether they be the most decorative or creative... post which team has the best appearance

BBS (16) looks nice and professional (polo shirt and khakis).

Robodevils (1018) were one of my favorites at SLR too (soccer jerseys and hard hats w/ devil horns).

I disagree with you, there is NO SUCH THING as over kil when it comes to FIRST. Also, there uniforms where great. Who cares if there bright as hell, you noticed the didnt you? They showed more team spirit by wearing that then you did with your uniform, didnt they?! You have to have alot of confidence to wear a kilt like a few of them do and those socks!

I liked the Duct Tape Bandit's uniforms - not exactly uniform (in the truest sense of the word - because everyone's outfit addition was different), but the Duct Tape clothes/accessories were really cool. It looks like the team had a lot of fun making their competition wear!

I agree. The Duct Tape Bandit's uniforms were crazy :ahh: They did an excellent job on those. I also like the paragon's capes. I tried to get one at UTC but was unsuccessful.

That much green offends the eye, nothing against MOE, but too much green and the sticks are incredibly annoying, but i dont know if they still have them 'cus of section 10. But 1086(might be 1068, not totally positive)"Black Pearl" had a cool pirate uniform this year, team 11 has all blue camo, and 116 had the black and white fatigues for pit and flight and polos on saturday(identical t-shirts the other days). 345 Blarg shirts were strange to say the least, nothing against the team, but what does BLARG! mean??? :confused: :confused:
anyway, my vote goes to 1086, this year anyway...

I don't know if it the coolest, but you can't miss MOE. Isn't that what it's about? I was walking through the pits in NJ and there must have been about 20 members of the team there, my optomitrist says my retinas are permanently scarred.

Not as a personal plug or anything just I know on another thread our team was descirbed by our uniforms so I figured I might as well mention them because obviously someone out there liked/remembered them...
We were banging in...
the full peach surgical scrubs
Purple medical gloves
Face shields
Surgical hair net
and a few (3) lucky memebers were also blessed to wear orange lab coats!!!!

P.S. we also had I.D. tags similar to those at hospitals on those pull out keychains but they wern't really uniform persay
P.P.S. yes our robot and moto are not medical based (Dissonance and "Can you hear us now") but you would know why we have that if you ever walked by our pits while testing the robot, however our new nifty logo has our new and improved "Dr. Fun" from 2002 revamped and now "Orderly Payne" so we figured the new design change deserved some recognition and attention.

The MOEstix are gone, and they are being used in a number of different manners. Some are being given to winners of the "Where's GizMOE today?" contest, and others were given out at the NJ Regional for a Team Spirit award. Not to be discouraged though, we have designed "MOE wobblies", which create a low rumbling thunderous sound which is more directional than the MOEstix used to be. Some may consider this to be our "Third Order of Obnoxiousness" (shirts, stix, wobblies), we just see it as another extension of our Team Spirit.

Anyone else notice how much energy the competitions have lost because there isn't any noise? In five years of attending events I've never heard the announcers (at competition or on the webcasts) keep encouraging the crowds to the extent they have this year.

I think it's always great to see a team with "costumes" instead of uniforms.

The Duct Tape Bandits have already been mentioned, but the CyberKnights(I think?) dress up in medevial clothes, which is pretty cool.

I also like seeing the Techno Wizards in their pointy hats and capes. And I definitely love how their entire drive team does the "wizard" hand motion when their team is announced. I was cracking up the first time I saw that, I thought it was great. =)

Oaktown Crewz (1188) has got everyone else beat. They show up (at least once for each competition) in suits. Seeing an entire team of people in black suits is just so...awe inspiring, maybe?

It doesn't matter...they just look cool. :)

Not only that but their ties with their logos embroidered in them really add to that.

They have these really loud noisemakers that swing around ... so loud. If you're near Cooney Quest at Nationals, don't stand too close -- you won't be able to hear for the rest of the day!!!

Speaking of 269 - their uniforms are pretty cool. This year's bowling shirts rock! ;) Of course, there's Ricky Q's traditional polo (http://www.huhs.org/activities/robotics/Pictures/Cooney%20Meeting%20Pics/MVC-837S.JPG). But no matter which shirt the members of 269 are wearing, the purple and yellow always stands out!

And they are really bright.

When we got to the Radisson(don't get me started) last year at Houston they were the first thing I noticed..............then I saw the tanker truck that was on fire on the side of the highway.

not to be shamelessly promoting my own team (ok, maybe a little) but i like 1089. we wear our silver and black jerseys with black pants. our drive team wears silver capes, and paints their face half black and half silver (with 1089 written in the contrasting color across). also, we recently added glow sticks to our uniforms, so we have one on each wrist and a necklace. i guess you could say we really stand out now.

also, i like 522. they may just have purple t-shirts, but they spice it up with wizard hats and capes, and silver glitter galore.

Howdy! I am from team 1086, the Pirates from Deep Run HS. On behalf of my team, I would like to thank you very much for that. Being a rookie team (techincally is our second year...but we dont talk about last year) is hard, but when you have great people like you cheering you on, you realize that you really are doing a good job. It was difficult to come up with a new image in the robotics competition dominated by well established teams...so it was very nice to hear that from you. And this goes for all ya'll too, your words encourage team spirit and pride. You critisizm is not stinging either...I looked up my team number expecting all these posts about our rookie year, but I did not find a single negative thing. The critism is constructive, and seems to only encourage. I am new to CD but I have found great people who are taking gracious professionalism up and beyond my concept of meaning. Thank you again.

Team 861 had these really cute poodle skirts for thier girls to go with their "50's" theme. I *really* loved watching the announcer in Galileo at Nats last year and at Arizona regional this year put them on for each of our matches. (Actually, in arizona the referees came up with a new penalty: fashion violation. They managed to come up with a pink flag to launch on to the field. Extremely humorous.)

And, of course, the teams at Los Angeles might have noticed a particularly cute girl wandering around the pits with a flag on saturday. One with facial hair and sneakers. Yup, that was me. Call out to anyone who took pictures: I'd really like to see them! I didn't have a camera. :(

(Just so anyone who wasn't there knows: it was our practical joke that's been two years in the making. Myself and the senior girl on the team switched uniforms for the day. She got to wear the awesome flame pants, while I got the cute skirt. And pigtails. And she dragged me into the stands for makeup. I no longer have any shame. Or dignity. )

1432's Capes. It wasn't really a uniform but it certainly was a style unlike any other... nothing matched but thats ok... um... we had 847 with the blinky lights and yellow shirts... the only thing wrong with 847 only had 1 shirt ... I didn't see very many teams that had 3 different shirts for Reginals most of them had 2.. We had 3 shirts(blue, white, yellow), jackets(blue), and yellow beanies.. I hoping to see all the cool uniforms at nationals, I think i liked 5s uniforms the best last year...

We were admiring Chief Delphi's team uniform all weekend at SVR :D SO COOL! With the orange and the black and the white and the pants and the jackets and the coolness!
And it's pretty hard to miss Jesuit's bright red pants... The Los Altos lab coats w/the gray/blue hair was neat too. But then again, I have yet to see the infamous MOE and Pink Team, and all of the aforementioned teams that I can't remember right now.

And adding to the bowling shirt... We had ours for a couple years, but this year they got retired :( But that's okay, because we have a new black t-shirt replacing the bowling shirt! Same design on back but with different font. Now we're all ghetto, haha. Unfortunately they didn't come in time for last day of SVR. Other two shirts are: red t-shirt w/this year's robot on the back, and the return of the black polo shirt!

I must say that I like our team's purple. The color seems royal, but more importantly, it is quite unique. I think I saw two other teams at championships last year with purple as a color, and neither of them were purple and gold like us. (one was purple and white, the other I forget)

Gotta love the tie-dye... 100% student made too... From the dye to the screen printed letters and numbers... I believe I got some to trade too... If anyone is interested... Plus you can't miss me when I wear 100% tie-dye and over 250 buttons and still collecting more!!!

My favorite??? Geez... I don't think I can pick out just one... I mean you got 365 which I love because I love MOE, and team 25 I wear their shirt like once a week to school... I'll say they are my top two in that order... Gotta love them!!!

Our team has bright yellow shirts with our logo and team number on the front and our sponsers on the back, written in black. Our mentors have black polo shirts with the logo written in yellow. for some reason the mentors stick out in the pits.

Thanks for the mention. Those lab coats are really useful when carrying a bunch tools back and forth from the pits to the drive team waiting in line that's doing last minute repairs before the match. :eek:

I don't think team 233 has been mentioned. Pink is awsome! The story behind their choice of color cracks me up. :D

juss wanted to say that all teams had great uniforms and they were all unique and awsome in their own different ways. the mor noticable ones at nats and other comp's were definately moe, wildstang, tj squared, team 7, bbs, nd offcourse mine which is team 25.we've stayed with the hawian shirt concept ever since and hope to keep it that way. so juss wanted to say that all uniforms were unique in their own different way.

Forgive me for forgetting team numbers but my top 4 of all time in no particular order are:

Two Train Robotics - They had full train conductor jump suits that must have been really hot to wear.

GUNN Robotics - I love those retro bowling type shirts and the retro robotics design with the retro font.. I want one of those so badly... (Did someone say retro?)

Team #360 - They were sporting the blue shirts and pants with the home depot style orange smocks in Archemedes division this year in Atlanta.
They had a wicked cool crate as well.

Woburn Canada Robotics with their Hockey type mesh red and white jerseys.

Honorable mention goes to the local favorites who keep us on our toes each year with the bright colors (Buzz, TJ^2, MOE, etc.)

Also, what team had the "Bad Robot" shirts this year in Atlanta?? I think it was a black T-Shirt with the words "Bad Robot" and a picture of a robot attacking someone. I liked that one too. I want one of those too...

You're forgiven! Heh, that totally made my day. We love those shirts too! Unfortunately, the bowling shirts were retired this season (due to lack of time for making them)... so to replace them we designed a black t-shirt that has the same back, but it's just not the same. However, we (or at least some of us, like me because I don't have my own) plan on trying to bring them back next year, because then that'd be happy.

After going to nats and seeing MOE in person (and not going blind!), I must say, their shirts are really cool. Oooooh, shiny...

I agree with Henry 222, I loved Team 25's shirts...they always have cool stuff to surprise you with every year. Heck I even got one! :D
I admit MOE is excellent with their uniforms. in FIRST, you do have to be noticeable and fun with your look. Obviously, it's a big hit. Go MOE! :D

What makes the coolest uniform to me is something that's creative and that not other team has. Of course, with so many teams ... it is kind of difficult to really find a one-of-a kind uniform that no other teams have. Some people resort to the usual t-shirt and jeans. Which definetly gets boring ... so I like to see color, creativity, and uniqueness!!! :cool: I also like to see teams who pick a color such as obnoxious green or really bright pink and incorporated it into everything from the robot, to their attire, even to the gizmos that they hand out at competitions. For example, at the Peachtree regional team 1371 had their robot painted pink, they had pink jumpsuits, pink beads and plack hats with pink inscripting, i mean it really was a site!! :]
Some other teams opt to use themes, and they incorporate this into everything as well. Of course not everyone is going to like the splash of diverisity ... but then again isn't that also part of FIRST? We need to have gracious professionalism and appreciate everyones creativity.

With that said, to me the coolest uniforms belong to the teams that have the must guts to wear something that most people would not even dream about. Good JOB at givings us at nightmares!!! :yikes:

MOE has the coolest uniform, no doubt about it!!!!! The pin i received from them ("MOE HUGS!") at the new jersey regional is probably my favorite and is definitely the first thing i see when i open my closet...

i dunno, i guess the lime green transmits a wild kind of energy that's contagious, really... :D :D :D LoL!!! Go MOE!!!!

Well, I hate to do this, but I don't think it was 861 that did that. They might have had the poodle skirts, but the skirts you are referring to are from 60. I know this, because Blaire wore MY poodle skirt, and the guy that they "fashion violated" was my friend Alex. We spent the whole night Friday shaving his legs and plucking his eyebrows and all morning Saturday making him look girlish. The sad thing was that his parents never knew he wore the girl's uniform (the poodle skirt) instead of the boy's bowling shirt.

and I'd have to say that 190's CRUD shirts were pretty awesome. I was comissioned to wear one in Az. Don't know why exactly, but I did it.
