Hey everyone,
I recently got hold of a pocket PC and the Theme Maker for PocketPC 2002/2003. So, naturally, even though I'm on vacation in Florida, I made an unnofficial FIRST theme... how pretty. Anyways, if anyone has input or wants a copy of it, drop me a line- I'll be sure to respond.

I'de like to check it out. If you post it here, that's cool or you can email me at cagilber@purdue.edu. I can probably host it on my site too if you don't have that ability.

I've made a few Mars themes that I thought were pretty good. Check em out here. (http://web.ics.purdue.edu/%7Ecagilber/PocketPC%20Themes/)

Being the geek I am (and having found my good old soda supply) I decided that it's time for me to put it up somewhere where the rest of us could get to it: http://first.watkinson.org/FIRST2.tsk

I know, it's not that great... eventually, I'll improve on it.

Could you post screenshots? I don't support the Evil Empire, but would still like to see your work.

Indeed. I also do not have any Pocket PC computer but I would still enjoy some screenshots. And perhaps you could get FIRST to install it on their IPAQs that are used for real time scoring?

It is really nice looking. I have it on mine, I don't know how to produce a screen shot on my ppc though.

I'm going home to CT in a matter of, oh, 15 hours, but I thought I'd let everyone in on my next project. Because I know everyone brings at least 2 portable computers (my personal three are a Palm IIIc, an iPaq 3650, and a nice white iBook) I've decided that it'd be nice to have at least a maching background image for our pc's. I've got photoshop elements and about a 2 hour layover in Atlanta (hmm... seems like I'll be there a lot this year) so I'll see what I can produce on my way home. I'll keep everyone posted as this develops. Should be interesting to say the least.

Cheers-
Tim

PS- Does anyone know a good program to make themes and boot screens for windows? I know how to do that in OSX but not on xp.

I don't know a good program for XP, but i got a great one for Pocket PC. It's called TKCreator from www.funnysnake.com. That's what I use on my iPAQ 1910 and I love it. Best part is... ITS FREE!!!!!! I made a neat Segway background with it. Simple but loveable :p The colors are even true Tigerton, i mean CD, of course!. The backgound file is zipped below, obviosly b/c .tsk isn't a supported extension. If you need the Segway picture itself, you can find it here. I use BootXP for my boots, so I don't make my own, but I think this site's tutorial may help you (?). I think there's a demo for PSP somewhere. If not, just try everyone's favorite graphical editing program, MSPaint.

And...I'm iPaq illiterate, so could someone tell me how to activate this theme? I have an iPaq H3900. Can I use the theme? Please help me! IM me on AIM or something, or just email me if you can help wolfhoundnh@comcast.net

edit: Well the link didn't post, and I can't find the url again x.X Sorry

fairly simple. Just sync your iPaq and if you have XP it should in your my computer come up with portable device. Open that. Then get into your my documents on your PPC and copy the file over. Then go to start, settings, today and it will come up as FIRST2 I believe.

Well I have done it enough times that I have the process memorized, so it can't be that hard.
