My mentor gave me one this year from the UTC regional to keep. I have it on my desk and I'm not taking it to school (just because I could lose it there and then I would not have it anymore). I didn't think of wearing my operater badge to school, what a good idea.

well, I don't have an operator badge, but I do wear my wristband from Nats until it falls off of its own accord every year. And I always have my FIRST Volunteer pin on my jacket. :D
Not to mention the fact that I carry my safety glasses, mini-screw drivers, measuring tape, and zip ties (among other things for robotics) in my purse at all times. hee hee

I have a ton from the last three years... but wearing them in public would only increase total dorkdom.

If I had one I would wear it seeing how im the only kid from my school who is on a team. So that way when people in school ask me what the button is for I can say "It means I drive a robot that is 10 times better than any stupid battlebot" :yikes:

O yeah and I'm gonna see if i can wear my wrap party wrist band till next years nat's. But thats if it lasts that long. lol :D

I hope you slipped it off and are going to put it back on. Please do not keep it on for an entire year. :D

Last year when we got back from our regional I wore all the buttons I got at the regional and yes I plan on doing that too this year along with the operator badge

I used to wear my coach badge after comps. And if we ever get a medal then I'd wear that too. Proudly.

Talk about necromancing, reviving this old thread. I plan on wearing everything I get at the regional.

I don't wear badges to school but I do wear my t-shirts from last year, and I have an alien toy I got from one of the teams at the championship with me.

I always dispute about that with the guards at school. They say it is not school uniform but I tell them it is because our team mentor said so.

I just cannot imagine bringing any other souvenirs like Frisbee to show to the school community..
It will be either stolen or considered "suspicious" by the guards
:) just kiddin'! They would love to play with it

I never really thought about wearing it to school until now. If we have the same success in Philly that we did in Jersey I am going to wear it. Not many people in my school know about the team, maybe if I wear the badge they will ask questions and we will get more support.

Precisely, exactly.
Our team wears their team shirt to school following competition. If they have garnered medals, they wear those and the badges are medals of honor for - every - drive team. One of our drivers kept all of his badges over the 4 years of his high school career. He was very proud of them and made a wall display of them in his room. One or two of the drivers have given me their badge and wrist bands in the past. I still have them and treasure them as memories.

Yeah we have pride week this week. I am totally going to wear my badge one of the days. Just because its the only sport I do in school and I should show my pride during pride week correct? And the badge is pretty spiffy looking.

It would provide a really super opportunity to try out your elevator speech. (That brief speech that has been prepared that explains robotics and FIRST.:D )

I think the week after Atlanta every driver, opertor, robocoach, and coach should all wear their badges to school. If the coach is a teach that is. Otherwise only wear it if doesnt have the chance of getting you in trouble.

WOW really old thread...ryan albright was up there...he's from 744 when 744 was 710 lol. anyway, i will probably wear it 2mro for one day, but after that it'll go in my small collection of driver pins.

Because I was the driver this year, I doubt I will be allowed to drive next year (so more people get to), so I will wear my badge this week and keep it on my backpack until I graduate :)

Last year was our rookie year and all the graduating senior team members wore their medallions to graduation.
I guess that puts FIRST right up there with NHS!

The two years that I was human player I wore them on my bag pack. Now that I graduated they are pinned on my wall with my team shirts. :)

Our Robotics team was also recogninzed at our high school gradttion too. I like how our school district is started to recongize FIRST. It’s a awesome thing! :)
