Actually, this picture is almost a year old. The plastic surgeon was a magician. While I know the scar is there, very few other folks even notice. And most of those who do, think it adds to my rakish good looks ;-)

I remember the hit. Actually, I specifically remember the bomb in my brain and then thinking, "I am not knocked out... ...how surprising to have hit my head so hard and not to be knocked out*... ...why is my left hand so warm and slippery?" (it was holding my face at that point).

It hurt... though not at that moment perhaps.

*I have been knocked out before skiing and also tubing down a sled hill, so my brain sort of had an idea of the type of impact that ought to hit the reset button -- but for some reason this hit didn't.
