What do you think of the Hitchhiker's Trilogy?

It was very nice for the entire series to be published in 1 volume back in 2002 since it was more like one book. I recommend the series to anyone.

The Hitchhiker's Trilogy is a trilogy of 5, which says a whole lot about the series.

I deffinately recommend it. I even based my speech off of 'So Long and Thanks for All the Fish' when I spoke at my high school graduation. :D

i never read any of them, but i am going to read The Restaurant at the End of the Universe for one of my summer reading books. it does sound really good, though :)

how can a "trilogy" have five books? the prefix tri- refers to things with three of something. shouldn't the hitchhiker series be called a "pentilogy"?

It would definitely make more sense if you read all the books in order... all 5 of them form one series, which was broadcast a loooong time ago on BBC radio. If you just start with The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, some things might not make sense and you won't experience the whole story.

i considered that, but the first book isn't on my summer reading list, only the second. go figure

Then add it. The books are short and enjoyable.

It is one of those things that after reading the book (even just the first one), you will see how a trilogy can have 5 books. It just does. :) And...you have to read them in order, you just have to...They're short (and addicting) enough. Just keep your towel nearby (read the first book).

Who owns the trilogy bible? I know I do. And I know some people probably won't even have a clue what I'm talking about :)
