All right,as you might expect, theres a story to go along with this. My mom works at a venture capital firm, and the partners there are essentially rich obscure old men. Monday was the annual beach party at one of the partners beach house, which is a dull time, to say the least. Somewhere along the line, the subject turned to robotics, and then one of the partners' wives said something about Dean Kamen, after which the conversation got a whole lot more interesting. Afterwards, she mentioned that her husband had put in a $1200 deposit on a Segway, but had never gotten it because he did not want to take the class on operating it. (My reaction :  )Then, he said that I could use his deposit towards one. Unfortunately, I have no money, and no job, so I won't be getting a Segway except if a small miracle happens (ie find buried treasure/the holy grail and sell it on ebay) :D

Well, do you have a job? You could always get a good job that pays well and eventually get the amount for the rest of the payments.
Or, do chores for money. That always seems to get a good jumpstart. :)
