You can now configure the 'Recent Activity' box on the right of the Portal (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/portal.php?) page. You get to pick what forums' activity shows up in that box. You can do so by going into your Control Panel (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/usercp.php?) and choosing 'Recent Posts Config (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/recentposts.php?)'
If you choose no forums, it will default to the General Forum.
Let me know if you run into any problems.

Thanks Alot Brandon, much of your work seems to go unseen or just never noticed it wouldnt have been here if it wasnt for you. Thanks Alot for this feature and nice job.

Is there any chance you could have it default to the old way (ie everything but chit-chat, IIRC)?

Oh, yeah. And thanks, Brandon! :)

I was just about to edit to clarify why, when you replied ;)
It's not for the people logged in, but for the people who aren't logged in. (Since I tend to browse not logged in, and only log in when I see something worth replying, or every once and a while to check PMs).

What is the "default" then? Is it the old way?

How about a subscribed forums list similar to the pop-up buddy list?

A subscribed forums list can be found on your user cp .. is that not good enough?

This is definetly convinient! You don't want new people getting lost or to a certain point frustrated because they can't find anything or understand. :yikes: Although, maybe an even cooler thought is that everything could be organized either alphabetically, categorized by type of thread, or even grouped chronologically. But myabe that's just for the organized cumpulsive minds, such as myself. :o
Any how this new "option" is definetly good for those who can't stand to see so many threads at once and to some point ... it is even more organized .. which is absolutely a PLUS!!! :D
Thank You for making this site even COOOLER to browse around in!!

I've been hoping you could make something like this for a long time. Thank you very much, I love this feature.

Just out of curiousity, what do people filter out for their portal page?

I really filter out nothing, I don't play Fantasy FIRST or anything, but still like to look at the threads, out of boredom ofcourse.
But I think this will be a useful feature during the build season. That's when people post like crazy, and some people don't really need to look at all threads. For example, I would rather spend time looking at Technical forum than Chit-Chat during the build season, but now since the post rate is so low, It's interesting to look at both.

Just out of curiousity, what do people filter out for their portal page?I've taken out:
Career, Moderated Disscusion, Programming, Control System, IT/Communications, Off-Season Events -CDI/OCCRA, First Historians, FIRST Related Organizations, Games/Trivia, Fantasy FIRST, Car Nack's Corner, Televised Robotics, Math and Science, FIRST Lego League, Old Forum Archives.
I really like it this way. It allows me to do all of my "forum surfing" right from the portal page w/ a tabbed browser.
