How Many FIRST shirts do you own? [Archive]

While trying to clean out my tshirts, I decided to count the number of FIRST shirts that I have. I was suprised to find that I only have 22. That's 12 shirts from my own teams, 4 shirts from other teams, and 6 other random FIRST shirts. There are also at least 2 shirts I know I have somewhere, but can't find.

Now, in an effort to clean out my tshirts, I will send a 1998 Beachbot shirt to the person who has the most FIRST shirts, and posts picture proof. Please have your counts and pictures posted by next Sunday (7/18/04).

mm... i dont even know how many shirts i have of my own team ... but its full in one Wardrobe... then mm... 3 FIRST shirts... (the one from nationals), pit crew shirt from zone zeal... other team shirts : Spam (180), swampthing (179), Technokats (45), Paw (710), Robotiks (408), Team roboTics (107), Combat (21)... i think thats it... might be missing one or two... :)

I have 4 team 108 t-shirts, 1 of the 108 football jerseys, 1 108 basketball jersey, 2 nationals shirts, and a long sleve 108 shirt for going to the midwest regional.

Total: 9 plus a FIRST visor if that counts for anything.

If anyone wants to add a 108 shirt to their collection im always up for trades.

I think I have a 168 shirt somewhere in my closet

I currently wear (not necessarily own--we're always stealing shirts from everyone) eight FIRST shirts. All from 2004.

2-Gray long-sleeved D5 Robotics shirts (the original issue, with 1293 on the sleeve.)
2-Gray short-sleeved D5 Robotics shirts (the ones we got Wednesday night of Palmetto, with 1293 on the chest)
2-Maroon short-sleeved D5 Robotics shirts (also received that night, arguably the most stylish D5 Robotics shirts to date. Also perhaps the most stylish D5 Robotics shirts ever, given the feeling of some folks that we need to change our name next season.)
2-FIRST Frenzy: RTB Crew Shirts (both from the Championship, where Mom and I volunteered. She was team crowd control on Newton, I was real-time scorer on Archimedes.)

From 2002 I have one X-Cat T-shirt (the other got loaned out for team pictures last year and never got returned) one 2002 version of the team hoodie, one X-Cat polo travel shirt and the 2002 Epcot Chanmpionship t-shirt (which I happen to be wearing)
From 2003 one X-Cat T-shirt, one 2003 hoodie (best design IMO) and the 2003 Houston Championship T-shirt.

From 2004 one X-Cat T-shirt, A black 2004 hoodie and two FIRST championship shirts bought at the virtual store in Atlanta.

In my closet I have 2 piles of t-shirts; 2 of them are FIRST shirts. Last year was the first year I didn't buy a shirt at nat's, since they were just generic shirts you could get on the website and not really related to the event IMHO.

I have so many I can't wear them all, t-shirts being sort of frowned on for "professional employees". If I just wear the ones I already have in rotation on Saturday, I can go several months before repeating.

But why would I want a '98 BeachBot shirt anyway? I already have 3, including one of the rare long-sleeve versions. But I would be honored to know that one of those rare items is in the Baker Collection. Hopefully it is still in decent shape.

So i just did the FIRST shirt count... and surprisingly it took me over an hour.

Here is the tally, all of these shirts still fit and are wearable, i left out any ones that were not, as they are all mostly up in the attic.

Its funny though cause a flood of the Tsunami shirts were pretty eye blinding.In 2000, all Bell Atlantic teams wore the same shirt, just with different logos on the back. I remember from Long Island that year we had matches with all B.A. teams (back when both alliances were on the same side of the field) the driver station was a blinding sea of teal. Team 19 wore red team-vests over the top of their shirts, smart kids.

I think I've got 4 or 5 tsunami shirts left. (Between me and my father, I inherited a bunch of them). It's kind of odd, they are one of the only FIRST shirts I never really wore in public. ;)

ssssshhhhhh.... don't tell Titus or Elgin, but in the back storage room at the SPAM pit we still have one of the quilts we made with team t-shirts from a couple hundred different teams. They were displayed in the pits at nationals I think in 1999 and 2000 - I believe one of them ended up at FIRST Place and we still have the other one. Sure would make a nice addition to a collection :D
Yup.. saw those quilts at Nationals in 2001 and 2002 hanging on the back of the stands of the Einstein stage area.

Thanks for that picture, i have been thinking about doing a FIRST shirt quilt but not with so many shirts... I am just trying to see how much work it would be to do that and where i could "display" it...

I also have hats, sox and lots of bizarre handout stuff.

My favorite shiirt- the LegoManiacs polo shirt from 2000. I wear it to work sometimes and always when we do demos for the little kids.

Then there is the glow in the dark competition shirt from 2000- that was a special event for us...

My teammates make fun of me for how many team shirts i have. Whenever they or any of my friends come over they make fun of me for having an almost completely orange closet. I used to have at least...25 team shirts until i cleaned out the old shirts...then the new line of shirts came in and i am getting up to the same number as before. I have no idea how i get all of these shirts...but wateva. I have 2 FIRST shirts and four FIRST shirts from other teams. At least i dont have to worry about wearing a team shirt twice at competitions.
