I stole "B to the izz-illfred's" idea here and flipped it.
I am still trying to remember who I first recognized and where.. I'll get back to you on that.

I think for me it was Kristina Doan from 691 at one of the SCRRF events.

I've recognized many people, but the first person I introduced myself to was Brandon Martus at the tailgate hosted by 217 at nationals this year.

Well, my story is kinda complicated.
I met random guys from ComBBAT at Palmetto who were on Delphi, but I never knew their names. (If you talked to a kid in a 1293 shirt on Thursday morning before the doors opened, then that was probably me.)
Then there was Kelly, then of the Firebirds...then again, that wasn't a formal introduction. It was more like here's us, here's them, hey.
I guess the first time I officially introduced myself to anyone on these boards was David Kelly on Wednesday night in Atlanta. Not that I knew him from here at that point, since I really didn't get going here until after the Championship. But it's proof that all sorts of odd things can happen if you stick your hand up for real-time scoring.
And by the way, it's Billfred. One word, no extra capitalization. (other acceptable spellings are Billfrizzle, B to the izz-illfred, illfredBay, and Billfreezyfosheezywithaglassoflemoneezy.)

I've met punarhero, but that was before I was on ChiefDelphi.
Then again there's RudimentaryPeni, but he's on my team, so I don't think that counts.
I first met Astonouth7303. Well, actually, he came and found me at the Buckeye regional. I also saw PitBull1126 at the Buckeye, but I was busy at the time and didn't introduce myself. (1126 was loaning us an encoder after one of ours went flakey on us. Thanks! :D)

I lucked out and found Amanda Morrison and Brandon at the First Store, just before the web hug in Atlanta.
Side Note.... At a later point, I watched Brandon walking around and nobody seem to know who he was. It just blew my mind.

The first person I have actually gone up and introduced myself to is Big Mike. I suspect he's the only one I've actually approached and introduced myself to from these forums, as I often talk to lots of people and never mention my name.

Andy Baker, at the Buckeye Regional in 2002. I'd made a deal with him to acquire an additional Chiaphua gear, and went to the Technokats' pit asking "where can I find Andy Baker?" So, he was definitely the first. I can't count how many people I've introduced myself to since then.

Elgin Clock is on my team so I won't count him.
It would be EddieMcD at UTC this year. I was heading back towards my team's pits when I saw him. Even if I was blind I don't think I would've missed all that lime green! :D

What? Did I hear you right? You would be honored if I photoshopped pictures of you in the future? Well, I can hardly disappoint such a wonderful FIRSTer, I'll let you be an Oompa Loompa along with Dave:

Back on topic, I'm going to respond with the same answer I did in the other thread: 2001 Nationals. I met so many people from Chief Delphi those three days, that I don't actually remember who I spotted or who spotted me, so it's only a partial answer.

I think the first student that I knew from the forums and met (that I can remember) was Jtosh Hambright, way back in the day (at least, if he wasn't the first, he is the furthest back that I can remember). I met a whole ton of people at the 2003 IRI, so it's kind of hard to really remember. I think the first mentor that I met from these forums was JVN... when he handed me a camera and asked me to take a picture of himself, Andy Baker, and Big Mike.
I lucked out and found Amanda Morrison and Brandon at the First Store, just before the web hug in Atlanta.
Side Note.... At a later point, I watched Brandon walking around and nobody seem to know who he was. It just blew my mind.
Wow! Someone 'lucked out' by meeting me. :) It was awesome to meet you!
I have a funny story about meeting Brandon... I didn't know whom he was either until someone whispered and pointed him out to me. I was too scared to really talk to him, knowing who he was and all. So instead of a formal introduction, I ran up to him, said, 'Hi! I'm Amanda Morrison, it's nice to meet you.' and practically ran away. The whole day, I got to brag that I met Brandon Martus! :)

Hahaha. i totaly remeber that
"OMG Is that brandon?!?!?"
"Lets go say hi"
"No i'm scared"
"I think he just smiled at us, he knows who we are!"
I dont have any idea who the first person i met in real life from on here. I met alot of people who i knew of more from RL then from the boards, but i'd say the first person i became friends in real life from the board would have to be Amanda.

In OCCRA 2003, I spotted a few Martus' at the competitions, Brandon and Mike.
At the 04 webhug, I actually met and introduced myself to a bunch of CD'ers;
Brandon Martus, Mike Martus, Andy Baker, Dave Lavery :ahh:, Koko Ed, and Andy Grady.
Anyway, getting back on topic, the first person from the forums that I met was, Tytus Gerrish, by way of cutiebethy.

I think the first person I ever met was Bill Gold, although this was over a year before I joined ChiefDelphi, and I didn't really introduce myself.
I have no clue who the first person I introduced myself to was...

does it count if i talked to them here and planned to meet up with them?
For me I believe it was Joe Johnson FIRST National 1998/9 I don't remember which. I had to give him a Blue Lightning pin because he'd always respected us. Speaking of Dr. joe where is he lately anyways he seems to be in forum seclusion.

I think that the first person that I said hi to was Dan (aka Stud Man Dan) from 710. When I actually did meet him though, he couldn't understand a word I said because apparently, unknown to me, I have a Michigan accent... :ahh:
The first to say hi to me was someone at the West Michigan Regional who said he recognized me, but I never caught his name.
I spot people all the time. The only one I have EVER introduced myself to was Joe Johnson at one of the Epcot Nationals....maybe '01

I met Tytus before I joined chiefdelphi, since he is always with our team. I met a few other people, like someone from Combbat, but I can't really remember everyone.
The first person that I recognized, well someone pointed him out, was Brandom Martus at the 2004 Championship, next to the Newton Division practice field.
Actually, I met George, from team 1083, but he was at our team party because he used to be on our team, so I don't know if that counts.

I first met a CD member not by accident but on business to deliver some VHS footage of GLR to Will Hanshiro of 322, if my memory serves. It gave me the one of the very first (for I KNOW there will be more) feelings of great accomplishment in FIRST.

I think the first person I ever met from these forums was either Greg Perkins or MattK, or may have been the same competition. I don't remember.
The person I've known longest from these forums and finally met this past year was Matt from SPAM.

Ummm, i think it all started with Big Mike, go figure, 25 being one of my teams favored opponents :-). From there i think it went on to Ken at the Arizona regional, M. Krass, and Evan from 713, Jim gold, bill gold for about 15 seconds, chell, even though she didnt know it, and a few others at Natts in 2003. Andy, and JVN briefly at WPI. Then Chell and Katie for sure at IRI, and i have a whole gum rubber wheel arround here somewhere signed by all the people i met there, cant even think of everyone. Then At natts this year, Meli W, Cory from 100, and Ian from 810. Insert Brian lucas from MOE and Sarah from 1089 in there somewhere, i have known both for a good ammount of time, just dont remember where.

Ahh yes Dave that was a fun day
Anyway, the first people I met from the forums were at the NYC regional in 2002. 2002 was by far the worst year for 713 and we really needed help from who ever was willing to give it, sure enough there were the wonderful people of FIRST. I'd once again like to thank Joe (team 73), Christina (then 810 now 73), Matt (team 73), M.Krass (then 810 now freelance), Rich Wong, Patrick (639), and I believe Elgin (237)
