Court Jester vs. Engineer

So I was talking to a Chief Delphi friend on AIM, and the subject came up of being a court jester. And I thought, as unique as the CD community is, are there other future jesters out here? Like if it was a career option would you do it?

So the question is, Court Jester or Engineer?

While I would love to be a court jester, I just don't possess the acting and comedic skills necessary to be one. I make my friends laugh, but it's because they share the same sense of humor that I do. I believe I would be a much better engineer and so that's why I voted for engineer.

okay .. this is going to seem really really stupid .. but in all honesty, i have been thinking (seriously) about becoming a stand-up comic (i know its not the same as being a court jester ) ... this idea popped into my head a little over a week ago (and it was completely random too) .. and since then, i have been giving it some thought because i love making people laugh .. i am really random .. i do some of THE most stupidest and dumbest and blondest things that you would never imagine, which are great for telling people and making them laugh ... and im not scared of making a complete fool out of myself in front of people .. i find it hilarious when i do ...

so between court jester and engineer .. i dont know anymore ... court jester seems more fun .. engineer seems more realistic

Engineer. As much as I like being funny, jester would stay as a hobby (if not a talent).

i also watch a lot of other comedians .. like Club Comedy .. Coming to the Stage .. Comic Club (I think thats what its called) .. Just for Laughs .. and so many others .. i love it ...

Court Jester definately.

I'm already in the engineering field, and although it can be fun sometimes, I would gladly rather make a living being as a court jester.

Only if I get to wear a mask though..
I seem to act goofier with a mask than without in public settings.
A mask hides your true identity and it makes you shed your inhibitions about who you are doing something in front of.

Trust me.. I know. :D I work at a Haunted Graveyard (http://hauntedgraveyard.com/), and I act silly and scary when I have the mask on. If I were to have to do it without a mask, I would be more hesitant about it.

Someone who thinks Genia is strange...uh...special. Just playing, but that's my vote. Can't engineers be jesters? Look at some of the posts in here, specifically MissInformation's picture edits...gotta love those

I'd say Engineer - but what do you call someone that fixes something that the engineers missed on? (I'm a mechanic - but becides that or technician what do the Engineers really call us? Field Engineers? :D)
