So a few random questions. Since there's no discussion about home ddr I shall start one.

Stepmania and DWI, Gaming Platforms, or Nothing at home but an Arcade Junkie, or Mooch off of Friends with Pads, or DDR is for DDR geeks, not yourself.

In other questions, what do you name your ddr items? I.e., my CF is named "Intense Lochnix Pleasure Mix." ^^ It rhymes, and it means exactly what you think it means.

I prefer Stepmania, cause it's free and there's choice. w00t.

I use Stepmania. Fun stuff. Incidentally, I'm much better at home than in the arcade. :-P

I find I have that problem too. Yay for home ddr. The social community is nice though. Egads, I'm a geek.

I'm far, far better at the game on arcade machines than I am on any soft pad I've ever played on. I really rely on feeling the height difference between the arrows and the rest of the pad to make sure I'm in the right spot.

I can't do soft pads. Ever. You may say, "Try, try again" but well, we'll just leave it at that :p

Lol Genia, I definitely named my Cobalt Flux, too! It's called the StepMonster. 'Nuff said.

M. Krass makes a really good point. I know in soft pads it's hard to determine where you are and it's easy to get turned around. Cobalts are a bit easier, but they have a different elevation on the arrows then arcade pads, so while if you get used to moving from arrow to another at the arcade, relying on that height makes it difficult on my pad. Thus, I just live for Mr. Intense Lochnix Pleasure Mix. ^^ Stepmonster is very very cuuuute Lisa.

I must go with soft pads..
My feet are too big for the arcade :( Sometimes I hit the arrows but my toes are on the metal so it doesn't click, thus I must dance on my toes...

You should be on your toes anyways! If you wait for your entire foot to touch down, you are wasting valuable milliseconds.

KikiJoy...who else connects their pads to their computer to play DWI?

That said, soft pads suck. I am so waiting to buy a real arcade machine.

I wish I had time to get good at the arcade, but that's not happening any time soon.

I need to buy new soft pads, because I introduced DDR to the sorority and they have beaten my pads to a lovely little pulp. :)

Is it a DDR Sorority or a Robotics sorority? Stupid question...I know you have some sort of sorority and you mentioned it once, but I can't think of what it is. A DDR Sorority...that's like...wow. Crazy. I recommend the foam pads. They last, and they're cheap on Ebay.

Haha. Neither. Sigma Kappa (http://www.sigmakappa.org) is one of the oldest national sororities (130 years old) that focuses on development of character through intellectual, spiritual, and social growth. In a nutshell, it's what I did in my year off from FIRST...and I've found that both organizations (greek and robotics) run into the same stuff.

Attached is a picture of some of the girls in the lounge developing themselves...through DDR. :)

Anyone ever build their own DDR pad? (http://www.geocities.com/ddrhomepad/)

I'm not really a fan for playing at home other than Stepmania. I don't like home hard pads, even Cobalt Fluxes. At the Arcade, I can AA 7 and 8 footers regularly, but at home.. that's a different story.

So, what are some of you people's best scores... or rather, least amount of greats on a song? I've AA'ed "Twinbee" with 11 greats, and "B4U" with 14. :]
